It depends on how the person cracked it. generally they will crack it, and put it in a folder with a instruction document and a keygen. or it will be with a designated code to put in when installing it. It could be an AIO (all in one) and all you need to do is install it.
Screenshot all network settings, if you know account passwords even better, when you get the new router plug it in and enter all that info from the screen shots and then it should work.

Are you on a static internal IP, it could be that you have set it up correctly but every time you connect to the internet your router gives you a different IP address as to what you set it as in the port forwarding.
