    Discussion My PC Build

Any reason to why you're spending so much on a case? You can spend a quarter of that and with the money you saved, get a way better video card. Also, get low profile RAM so there are zero clearance issues with your after market cooling.

    Discussion PC Build + Help/Questions

I have 'X' thing so it's automatically good and I should recommend it. No, that is not how it works. Not only does OP not have the room in his budget to get an i5 / i7 as horribly suggested by you, but Gigabyte boards are bad value and a 700w power supply is not needed for a system that will...

    Discussion Build me a PC.

He' d be better off with a higher end Nvidia video card in this case due to editing applications being able to utilize CUDA and speeding up the rendering process by a lot. The 7970 is a better value if you're only going to play games.

What the hell are you talking about? You know, you'd actually help more by not trying to help if you're ignorant yourself to further stop posting misleading information.

Hard drive ( re format ) + DVD drive. Drop the Raidmax case. It's horrible and just as bad as most of their other products. HAF 912 / Zalman Z9 can be found at the same price and are superior in every way that is relevant. Grab an Ivy Bridge I3 + MSI / ASRock B75 motherboard. It's a better...

    Discussion New build

Ahhhh, didn't know that. Yeah, if you're not from America, you're generally going to pay quite a bit more for computer components which sucks. Since it was a dot com site, I just assumed he was from America - silly of me :p.

    Discussion New build

An Ivy Bridge i3 would be better suited for this budget. Don't be fooled, it's still a very good performer and is excellent value. It's up there in with higher end CPU's, especially in gaming since they tend to use fewer cores and not utilize hyper-threading technology. The GT 210 is not a...

Discussion Help with Gaming PC build?

Not going to use PCPartPicker because that site is simply dumb. Sure, you get to see the lowest prices, but no one in their right mind is going to buy all of their components from 3(+) different companies - it's too much of a hassle with little reward. Here's what I came up with...on...

Discussion Help with Gaming PC build?

H100i is a bad buy, especially at that price point. No reason to spend more money on an Extreme6 if you're not going to use the features. MSI Z77 G45 / Extreme4 are considerably cheaper. 16Gb's of RAM is not needed and will have no extra benefit over an 8GB kit since you're not going to...

Discussion Recommended PSU for my AMD RADEON HD 7870

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182131&Tpk=550w%20hive A quality 500w PSU is more than enough to power any single GPU system and that includes overclocking.

Discussion Can my PC run games well?

Yeah, you'll be able to play some popular mainstream FPS games like COD on a low medium confirgation at 1600 x 900 but anything more and you're just asking for too much. An FX 4100 and an 7750 aren't the top choices.

    Discussion 2012 imac

$2000 build compared to $1799 and no included O/S. No keyboard / mouse either. I'm trying to be fair and play both sides. It's still great value for what you're paying.

    Discussion 2012 imac

An overpriced video card is stupid. It's not all about gaming performance. Honestly, if you think 1920 x 1080 TN panels are perfect for gaming, you're part of the percentage holding gaming and innovation back. Go to your local BestBuy or Apple store, look at a 27'' iMac and compare it to a...

    Discussion 2012 imac

No, I am not kidding you. You just proved me right by listing the prices. Sure, performance wise it'd tear the iMac apart, but you're not going to have a spare $1,000 for a comparable monitor that is 2560 x 1600 and IPS. Having a GTX 690 pushing 1920 x 1080 is pointless.

    Discussion 2012 imac

Guy thinks he can compare a 32'' TV that is low resolution TN panel to a 2560 x 1600 IPS panel. The monitor alone will cost $1,000. Again, the 27'' iMac is great value for the money. If you were to build it yourself with the same high resolution IPS panel, it'd cost the same if not more since...

    Discussion 2012 imac

You don't know a lot about computers if you think a 27'' iMac for example is overpriced. The monitor alone would cost about $1,000 + components. It's great value. Just because Apple has had a couple of products in the past that were overpriced does not mean their entire line up is.

Discussion Opinions on buying this build please.

Actually, for $800 you probably could...maybe even a little better considering new parts. 2 monitors...sure...but I guarantee they're generic TN panels and presumable glossy. It's not anything outstanding.

    Discussion 2012 imac

This does not exist. For $2100, aren't you able to grab the 27'' version with the high resolution IPS panel? It's surprisingly good value for what you're paying. The 21.5'' iMac is just terrible.

Discussion Opinions on buying this build please.

It's not that good of a deal. I mean, maybe for $625 or lower it'd seem reasonable but $800...yeah, no. P.S - it'd take you less time to build a computer than compared to spending hours on craigslist searching and coming up with hits and misses.
