Its a desktop not laptopYou may not be able to upgrade that laptop.
I do aha. I have 2 desktops 2 laptopsDo you have a desktop laying around?
I didn't even know the Pavilion was a laptop...You may not be able to upgrade that laptop.
Oh, nvm then. So you are probably going to need a new PSU if you want a new GPU, and you also may need a new case. What is your current computer? Its a desktop not laptop

OP: Laptops are borderline impossible to upgrade. You're best bet for gaming is just building yourself a new rig.

I was checking out what specs is needed to play DayZ and all I really need is graphic card but do I need to upgrade the processor as well?I'm on a HP Pavilion a6700y
Well, if you need to get a 650 then you will also need to get a new PSU, because your current power supply is a bit lower than what a 650 needs.I'm on a HP Pavilion a6700y

So for those two things roughly how much would it come out to be?Well, if you need to get a 650 then you will also need to get a new PSU, because your current power supply is a bit lower than what a 650 needs.
If you can, I would get a 750 ti. This way there you won't need a new PSU. Even with a 750ti though, your frames would probably drop below 30 (unplayable) at some parts in the DayZ SA

Oh, I thought you said the 650 not the 560. In that case, you probably are best off with getting a 270x and 500w PSU, coming in around $250 total. So for those two things roughly how much would it come out to be?

He isn't wrong, but you don't necessarily have to upgrade your PSU, given that you have a 6-pin connector available for it. The base model R9 270 will only pull about 150 watts max, if it's overclocked.Oh, I thought you said the 650 not the 560.
