Finally finished with CCleaner, and super Anti spyware.

I'm currently doing Malwarebytes and it's showing 7 infected.

I can't believe the difference this has already made! My web browser has tripled in speed just from the first 2 programs!

My Overall view so far. Absolutely Amazing! I will update more when I'm finished.

Edit: Finished with Malwarebytes, the full scan found 7 infections. Had no clue!

Started on AVG, it does seem a bit laggy but this is expected being my first full scan.

So far so good!

I just got a blue screen of death last night, and this inspired me to find this tutorial. I don't think AVG is legit, it NEVER finds anything on my computer. I get viruses on my laptop all the time, and Webroot always catches them, but AVG hasn't gotten a single thing. I'm going to try the other virus protector.

Just a word of advice, using the registry cleaner really is not necessary unless you are having issues. Otherwise it could cause issues by possibly removing something that you need. Always make a backup of your registry with CCleaner before fixing anything in the registry.

So you are saying this is still valuable? I haven't updated it in a while but I did update it...I want to say, about a year ago.
Actually, I need to update it with different programs now. For the most part, it is still good and can help people who don't know what they are doing with their computer to clean it out. I'll try updating it tonight or over this weekend.

Yep. The method you described still works .
Although as said above editing the registry should only be done if you can't get rid of the virus in other ways first. That should be an extreme measure.

And you should. It isn't the most 'active' section by any means, but people still come here for help.

I really like the advice, it really did help. I, however, prefer to use Avira for my Virus detector, but it doesn't really have the firewall unless you buy it. Avira is still pretty good, i've been to some shady websites before and never have i gotten a virus. I also use SlimCleaner instead of CCleaner (I use both, but SlimCleaner is better). SlimCleaner is free and very useful

Never heard of SlimCleaner, will have to check this out. Also, check out the date of this thread, I don't think Avira was well known back then.
