As far as I know I have seen no one with these text displayed on the bottom left hand corner.
Here is a video i took with my Elgato.
Good luck figuring out, post replies if you want me to try anything. I tried formating the drive and it went away for a day or so then came back?
If you have this let me know so i can remove the thread.

They wouldn't make the mistake of shipping a DevKit with the retail consoles. That'd be really stupid.

same as i thought but what the hell is this then?

It could be a bug/glitch with an update or something? That seems to be a more reasonable explanation than them sending out a devkit by accident.

Very true, but do you think that a jtag/rgh will ever be released? As we know DevKits Exist so assuming some one will figure out how to turn their console into a DevKit.

It's possibly this:
Code:
KERNEL VERSION HOST: XBOX LIVE SERVERS CPP: No clue LOCALIZATION: Languages

Doesn't look like anything devkit wise, could just be a button combo he did and it activated a little debugging text for retails.

That's complete bulls***. Devkits run unsigned code, which would probably create pirating on their system. What they are possibly talking about is a more lose version of XNA, as XNA was an extremely dumb down basic devkit. It couldn't even use majority of power of the 360.

lol XNA is not extremely dumbed down and guess what it can also run unsigned code in a sandboxed environment.
Now don't spread false information if you are incapable of doing anything.

It is limited but not as much as people think and unless you are making a huge resource intensive game, most people won't even notice it.

It can't use the majority of the 360's power? lol why are you such a fool. The 360 has 3 CPUs and XNA has access to all of them, each core has support of 2 hyperthreads and XNA has access to 4/6. Now I would say that's the majority of the resources.

Obviously the main limitations is the speed of code execution due to managed environment and being restricted to D3D9 programmable pipeline. You also don't have access to the SIMD/Vector unit for doing fast floating point maths but it doesn't make XNA a "basic devkit" lmao.

Isn't every console a DevKit? Or is there another console for the devs?

Every X1 is a dev kit technically speaking. It requires a specific certificate to be installed to the X1. MS did this to save on cost and make it much easier to those who are just starting up to simply install the certificates to their devices without having to wait and purchase another product.

and no just because you install the certificate doesn't mean the entire console is now running unsigned code. It just allows you to debug and test games on the system. It can still function and access XBL normally and what not. Think of it as a separate window on the main screen:
Pins, Home, Store, XNA w/e

That's it and it makes more sense. They are doing what Apple does and most other development companies by allowing users to take advantage of their devices at hand. For me, iOS developer, I can install a certificate to my device to allow the testing of my applications on the device and still use it for every day normal life as well.

Now are there ACTUAL dev kits of X1's? Yes aka just for MS. The only real hardware difference was 12GB of RAM instead of the standard 8 and I believe the CPU was a bit better, but can't recall.

Yes, every Xbox One is a DevKit. However, you can see under the 'Certificate Type' text in the 'Dev Settings' menu it says 'Retail Devkit'...

I highly doubt MS would even the playing field and let everyone loose with developer capabilities. I'm almost positive that MS has something 5 times more advanced than the 'retail devkit' and we just haven't seen or heard anything about it...yet
