Alright boys and girls, GBA4iOS was just seeded to testers today (Friday 9/13) and I already love it haha
Before I get in to all the technical stuff, here are some sexy screenshots...I have to say...I'm diggin' the purple.
This just in, GBA4iOS will be for iOS 7 ONLY.
Now for the technical stuff
Features:
-Full support for Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Color, and Gameboy games.
-Controller skins (I will update with more skins when I find some).
-Airplay mirroring on TV (I'm going to show this after I get the lightning to HDMI cable from Apple).
-Cheats! (Yes, they work perfectly now)
-Save states.
-Full 128kb .sav files.
-"Sustain Button" (more information on this to come).
-Fast Forward
-Dropbox syncing for ROMs.
New Features:
• Open In... from Safari! Now iOS 6 users can download ROMs on device
• Rename ROMs. Tap and hold to change the name
• Deleting ROMs
• Controller Opacity - In supported skins (currently only the default landscape one), you can adjust how translucent the skin is
• Renaming and protecting save states are now mutually exclusive.
• Import .gbaskin files from safari or iTunes or email or wherever
• Small visual tweaks
• iPad support! This is what took so long, had to make sure everything looked right on the bigger iPad screen.
• Lots of visual changes, hope you like them!
• Share ROMs. Just tap and hold on a ROM, and you can send via AirDrop or Email
• Edit cheats.
• Can resume ROM after returning to the menu (instead of starting it over again)
• Cancel sustain button (or unsustain a button) by selecting Sustain Button from the menu, and tapping anywhere there isn't a button.
Fixed in this beta:
• Crash when rotating device (iOS 6)
• Crash when tapping Save State or Load State (iOS 6)
• Emulator screen shrinking randomly
• Crash when saving ROM with no name
• Duplicate ROM listings when downloading new ROM
• Previous ROM sometimes still paused when selecting a new ROM
• Crash when loading ROM list (on launch and after downloading new ROM)
• Clock now works in all ROMs (including Liquid Crystal)
Known Issues:
• Auto-Save doesn't always save on crashes
• Airplay buggy (still work in progress)
• There is no iPad landscape skin. Technically, the code is there to support one, we just haven't designed one yet. So you're free to make your own if you wanted.
• Status bar is gone. This was so I could release the beta finally, iOS 7 has some weird status bar graphical glitches when using custom animations, so I need to find a workaround.
• After downloading a ROM on iPad, the ROM list view is shorter. Just close it and open it again to have it properly sized.
I will continue to update this thread as more betas are released to the testers. If you guys have any questions at all, feel free to ask in the comments.
Questions I will not answer:
-When does this get released to the public? (Don't be a smartass and word it differently)
-May I have an .ipa file for this app? (I am, under no circumstances, giving this app out to anyone)
