Alright guys, I know I have probably annoyed you enough ( InfectHead and Selena Gomez Selena Gomez ) I set the date of my build for June 11. Anybody have any final suggestions when building? I would really appreciate any suggestions for cabling cuz I want my build looking clean (the things I care about I'm a neat freak about).

Can you link your build parts?

yes I know two stick of RAM is better than one, I will be buying one 4gb very shortly.
I have already purchased everything except CPU Cooler, GPU, and Mobo

Don't get one 8GB stick and then another 4GB stick that's just stupid. Just get a 2x4GB stick instead? Its practically the same price as the one 8GB stick you listed.

what about 1x8 and 1x4 or would 2x8 be better than 1x8 and 1x4? I will get whatever is faster.

Preferably you want two of the same sticks of ram, which is why they sell them in pairs or quads. Having 1x8GB and 1x4GB will probably do more harm than good. By having two of the same sticks you'll have a two lane highway for data instead of the a one lane highway if that makes sense.

Alright then I will be upgrading to another stick of the same type and size

Can you even run an 8GB + a 4GB on the same channel?
you want the exact same stick.

Yes you will be running at faster speeds on dual channel.

Theoretically you could have an 8GB and 4GB stick plugged in. But whether your PC would function properly is another story entirely.

Since you will use the HDD as a secondairy drive, you don't need a WD black, just get a green, cost less and will do the same.

Green is meh at least get a Blue.

If he's storing his games and what not on the HDD then he'll want the performance improvement of the blue over the green.

You should get one of those fancy corsair pre-assembled water cooling for the cpu for only $14 more. From what I understand for installation all you gotta do is screw the fan/ heat distributor (1 part) to one of your fan mounts and screw the heat block to the cpu socket.
