I have acquired a large number of xboxes in the past few years. I am now looking at the rgh hack and am going to try to perform it with y brother later this week. When testing all the xboxes, one that had red rings no longer has them and one that didn't now does. It is giving me error 0021, which I checked the guide and it says either DVD drive timeout or cold a solder somewhere to the gpu. I assume its the second one because I don't have a DVD drive hooked in and it still gives me the error. I tried all (4) of them without DVD drives and all work fine, excluding this one. So my question is, how would I go about fixing this issue?

Reflow the Southbridge/Ethernet chip area. Or reball the south bridge. or if you work in dumping lite-on 8xxxx and 9xxxx with jumper, Check your dvd drive pcb (board) again, if there's still some shorting.

Your xbox is probably panicking because it can't find the DVD drive (Although, I've never known this to happen). Have you tried putting a DVD drive in there and seeing if it boots normal? if it still doesn't work, I think you need to reflow to fix the cold solder joint.

You both said reflow so that is what I will perform. I went back through and tested all of them again and another one is now giving me red rings. I probably didn't let it sit long enough the first time. Error code is 0110. Stated in the thread with all the error codes, it is a cold or bridged solder point in one of the ram chips. Again, how would I go about fixing this?

It might need a reball.

This error is caused by a cold solder joint under one of the RAM chips, mostly its the top ones, sometimes it can also be one of the solder balls under the GPU that lead to the RAM. Try Reflow the GPU.

You have all been mighty helpful, and I appreciate it. I found an Xbox hiding in the basement. It's error 0102. I assume sense it says it might be another cold solder point to just reflow this Xbox as well. 3 xboxes need reflows. If they don't work after that, is there someone on the site who I can send them to in the US?
