I got this PC for around $300. Do you think that's a good price? And will it be able to play most modern games?

Also I will be upgrading the RAM to around 4GB, maybe 6.

Sounds good for $300 but the RAM i would go for 6GB if you want to run the modern games. Also i'd maybe upgrade the hard drive to 500GB as 250GB goes way to fast.

Well, here is that exact build going for $409, so ya, i guess its a good deal. Not the best build ever, but with a RAM upgrade you should do just fine.

I dont expect it play modern games very well with that graphics card, even on low settings you'll still get low frames, for example, like Battlefield 3, yeah don't bother. InfectHead InfectHead fill him in on what he needs to know, I'm going to sleep.

Upgrading your memory wouldn't help you in any extra way when playing games, your graphics card is simply too big of a bottleneck. On-board video card, which means it's integrated with the processor, which equals absolute crap for gaming. You won't be able to play any modern games on it, bar some browser/flash games.

For the price it seems like a justifiable buy, but when you're looking for a gaming computer this is just the total opposite of what you want.

Could I still buy a new graphics card though? Because looking at the Specs on the site it does say Expansion Slot: 4. But it does not specify whether its PCI or AGP. And I know I won't be able to run games such as BF3, or Mw3. So I shouldn't have said modern. But games such as Mw2, GTA, Counter Strike, Etc.

Because the main reason I am getting this is because I was going to build my own PC, but I speculated that buying this and upgrading the video card and RAM would be cheaper.

Edit: The specs says Slot 1: Low Profile, PCI Express 2.0 x16 (45w max) would I be able to get this card? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130593

I'm just not sure because it does not say the amount of power the card uses. And apparently the PCIe slot has a 45watt max.

Depends what games you want to play.
You could use this website to check: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/intro.aspx
Way ahead of you

But the thing is that I don't have the PC yet :frown:

Thats a really good price for a gaming computer with those specs. But yes as mentioned I would upgrade the ram to from 6Gb to 10Gb or something for games!

Judging from the other crappy specs, I'm going to assume that the PSU is total garbage as well, so getting a GTX 570 is not possible.

Honestly, if you want a gaming PC, build one instead of buying crap and upgrading. This way, you'll be able to get a case that can house large video cards, get a power supply that is adequate for what you want and all the other components. That processor is very poor, as are the other specs. I would definitely recommend you build your own if you haven't bought it yet.

Damn, it is crap :frown:

Only 240w. And I was going to build my own PC, but I figured that upgrading this would be cheaper. I guess I was wrong lol. But either way, it is a major upgrade from my own PC. The reason I bought it quickly is because it was a major price drop (Normally 800). And there was only 10 in stock. But whatever, it's to late now lol. And considering this will be better for editing it's not like it's a waste.

Some of you guys are acting as if RAM = everything. That's not the case.

The RAM is probably the least of my worries.

Update: Now I'm pretty much buying a New

Edit/Update: Now I'm pretty much upgrading it part by part. First buying a new case, then psu, then video card and maybe the processor, but it should be fine for a while.

So is downloadable RAM!
? Not sure whether your trolling or you are making the mistake of mixing up Virtual Memory and RAM

And also ready boost is not that great unless you have a USB with a good transfer rate.

Playing on 1028x768 @ 10fps does not constitute playing the game. Integrated graphics is absolutely shit and if you try playing any of those games listed with it, you're gunna have a bad time.
