Hello,
My friend he needs some help resetting his Toshiba C655 laptop and I'm not very good with laptop's. He has a ton of viruses and would like it reset. Also I've had him try holding/spamming 0 while having the computer turn on and it just logs him back in, instead of resetting it.

Can we get some help

An easy way would be to install a fresh copy of windows, if there's a sticker on the laptop that's visible it'll be the product key for windows, since you bought the laptop I'd assume it's okay to download whatever windows version that corresponds to the product key on the label. After a clean install it will be all okay, presuming it's not a netbook and actually has a dvd drive?

Where would I get the disk from to install the fresh copy and or how would I get rid of the old copy?

Well thepiratebay.se have a nice selection  just download an iso via torrent (if you know how to do so?) and burn it to a regular dvd-r etc, then when the PC is booting up go into the bio, there you can change the boot order, put cd rom drive first or whatever drive the dvd is in, and it'll boot into the windows install screen, then just follow the instructions, make sure you chose to install a fresh copy of windows. That'll overwrite the old install and all your programs etc.

Well I can get you a copy of windows 7 if that's what you had on there before? Shipping will cost about £4 so like $7? PM me about it if you like?
Meh. Not really my computer but I'll ask him.

Guppy wtf is wrong with you, you greedy bastard.

Make sure you backup all your important files and folders before proceeding with this:
  1. Shut down the laptop
  2. Turn it on, and keep tapping the F8 key until you get to the Advanced Boot screen
  3. Click 'Repair your computer' or something along those lines
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions
  5. When you get to the 'System recovery Options' screen, click on 'Restore Application'
  6. Follow the onscreen instructions
  7. Click on 'Full factory recovery'
  8. Follow the onscreen instructions
  9. It will take a while, but it should restore your laptop to factory settings

Greedy bastard? wtf?! I was offering him a windows disc for just the postage, what am I getting out of that :/ I didn't think that would wipe the windows install and the virus too? If you read the post it says it has a ton of viruses, so I take it he doesn't want all his files and folders backed up

He can easily do it for free himself, why bother asking him to pay for something you would do?

You can tell by the post and other posts by him that he's not yet capable of doing it himself, otherwise he wouldn't of posted here -.- And I don't exactly want to pay the international postage for helping someone out :/
