I personally think that if you camp, you have no skills at all to get up and move around. Which brings me to the conclusion that camping simply ruins the game for me.

Thoughts?

I usually dont mind it..but..

I get pissed when I see a 12 y/o laying in grass with a silenced ACR and a heart beat sensor, with assassin.

Depends what game mode your playing. Search is fine if you are defending a bomb site. But if you are camping and not playing the objective whatsoever, that's what annoys me.

I don't mind it if you have a scope(not a red dot/holgraphic) or in defensive objectives but there is no reason to put your back literally into a corner on death match and launch tubes. Also I find a huge difference between camping a spot in a building and a corner. Holding a building is a strategy but camping a corner is just dirty in my book.

Camping is a strategy, but it's also the cowards way out. IMO, if you have to camp to get kills, you have no real skill, especially if you have to use Assassin with a silencer and/or heartbeat sensor. I wish CoD had a system that if you stay in a certain area for too long, you get kicked out of that game and lose all credit for it, but that game counts as a loss.

Camping is annoying (obviously) but is strategic at the same time if you are covering an area and not just playing with yourself in a random corner.

Search I understand you need to camp but im talking about like something where you are suppose to get up and run around, not hide in the corner like a b****.

I like this idea.

Ok so camping is ok if you are playing like Dom or demo and defending the objective! Not if you are in a high/medium traffic area laying down the whole game. I can see if you need to lay down or watever to reload and I can even understand running around a certain house or power point but just sitting there n ads is a joke and irritates me greatly

I consider it a strategy, not a likable one at times, but still a strategy.

It's a strategy that doesn't take as much skill as actual running and gunning does.

You're wrong. I camp the B point in dom, it takes significantly more skill to keep a whole team off of B when they spawn so close and spam nades. Spawns = easy to overwhelm an object.

Running and gunning is for the most part useless. You run all the way across the map in TDM; why? What makes the other side of the map more adventurous than where you spawn? If you chase spawns your kills suffer, you'd be better off sitting in the middle or a high volume choke point.

Running and gunning is also 80% connection. 2-4hit kill = internet battle. If i don't have a 4 bar i don't move around as much as if i'm caught out of cover i have no chance, im dead before i'm ADS

If they run, camp a bit, run, camp a bit and so on, I don't see a problem with it, it's strategic and I do it and get 2+ K/D. Not camping as in one spot the entire time until they die. I don't do that and it won't help you.

You would camp in real life, it is a real tactic.

Camping is stupid lol, but if it's for a reason of spawn trapping or something it's all good, annoying but all good. Those people that lay prone and wait for you to pop out for easy kills are mother &gwt893 that should die

i dont like the ones that camp a door with dual fmg just waiting for someone to enter. Camping a area is fine as long as your moving around

'Strategic or game ruining?' IMO it's both... Moving around the map and waiting for a bit at known choke points/ blind spots I don't think is an unfair strategy. It's not really any different to a sniper setting up overlooking a choke/ high traffic point... Which does really annoy me at times, but suck it up 'cos sniper rifles are in the game and, other than QS, running and gunning with a sniper rifle is not likely to be a successful strategy..
I totally agree though that losers that use a 'camping class' then seek out their favourite 'kill spot' on each map and sit there for most/ all of a match can ruin a game. IMO that's just grief playing..

well in mw2 if you stood still for exactly 86400 seconds (1 day) then you get killed. not even kidding.

It's not always "camping". Sometimes, it's holding a power position. Who's going to give up the opportunity to rack up their kills tremendously.. I mean, if people are just rushing to you like nothing, chill and let them come. It's not ALWAYS camping.
