Hi, I am building a gaming computer and was wondering if these specs were good =P

Here are the specs:

Case: NZXT Phantom White ( I need some help on this )

Processor: AMD FX-6100 AM3+ 3.3GHz 14MB 95W

Motherboard: ASRock 970 EXTREME4 AM3+ AMD 970 DDR3 ATX

PSU: Corsair Memory TX650 V2 650W ATX Enthusiast Series

Cooler: Corsair Memory Cooling Hydro Series H60 High-Performance CPU Cooler

Graphics Card: XFX ATI Radeon 6870 900MHz 1GB PCI-Express HDMI

HDD: Samsung 2TB SpinPoint EcoGreen F4EG SATA3 32MB Hard Drive

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz CL9 XMP

Optical Drive: Sony DVD-ROM 18X SATA DDU1681S-0B BLK

So yeah thats basically it. I did not want to go over my budget of £772, €800, $1,076 ( Including tax). And I did not want to buy a Intel ( They are too expensive ). But I plan to buy a SSD and in the future will CrossfireX 2 ATI Radeon HD 6870's.

Also for the Phantom case where is the cheapest place I can find one I need to also get it shipped to Ireland the cheapest I could find is £128 including shipping so if anyone can find a cheaper price can they give me a link below. Thanks

Wheres the OS? You can't play games through BIOS, also Intel is not to expensive, just remember you get what you pay for

It will probably be windows 7 professional. As I have a disc and key for it. Also I'm using AMD because I heard they are better for gaming and well I'm building a gaming computer so yeah lol. But would u say it's low, medium, high end or what??

You can probably run medium/high smoothly on most games which is medium, if you can wait it would probably be better to get the next series of gpus and a ivy bridge processor.

How much will the ivy bridge cost. I can wait till after Christmas and when are the GPU's coming out?? I don't think I would be able to afford the new 7000 series I might get a high end 6000 series as they will more than likely lower the prices of them. Just I am on a budget of 900 euro and everything there is basically 890 euro so I don't have that much money. Also this is my first build =P

It should be the same price as SB but wait till the official announcment from intel to decide, if you can't afford it SB processors will probably go down $50 or so.

Whoever told you that is an idiot. AMD is more for tight-budget builds. If you can afford Intel then I would also go with it. However the main point comes down to personal preference. I have and always will prefer intel. Get a 2500k, you'll be set for anything. Hell, if you wait til Ivy Bridge you can get the 2500k for probably the same price. Then overclock that b****.

I've always preferred Intel CPUs. I have an i5 (yes, I'm still running a dual core :blushing: ) but it kicks great. I had one bad experience with AMD and every machine I've built since (about 4) have been Intel based.

Great choice on the GFX. My last card was a XFX ATI Radeon, went out after about 4 years of some pretty intense 3D CAD work and In Design renderings.

Next, I'm also prefer WD for HDDs. Again, about everything between great drives is just personal preference, but the Caviar Blacks are superb.

Other than that, great build. The Phantom White case is beautiful! I think Newegg is the cheapest place I could find last I checked (at least for US).

I am on a pretty tight budget I didn't want to spendy over 900 euro. But next Christmas im now planning on buying the i7 or ivy bridge a motherboard for the intel and a new psu and probably a new graphics card. But would you know if the AMD FX-6100 is any good??

All leaked benchmarks for the ivy bridge i7 show a major leap in 3d releated things with ivy bridge and a 5%-25% increase processing in programs. Just remember your pc is only as good as your worst part.

If I get like 200 euro extra I will be able to afford the i7

You dont need a 2600k unless you need hyperthreading, if you dont the extra 100$ is a waste.

It also has 2 more mb of cache an i7 will run games smoothly for mabye a year after the i5 starts gettings a little unsmooth processing on games.
