Hi guys, I am looking to improve my video editing skills and if you could help me out, I would love you...

All I need you to do for me is send me some clips that you would like edited and I will edit them for you! Any clips from FIFA or Call Of Duty will do.

If you would like to see some of my recent work, look on my YouTube here.

If you would like to contact me via AIM, my AIM is xConnellyy.

Thanks.

I don't have my headset plugged in so I couldn't hear the audio, but with your montages you'll need more innovation to make them more interesting. You're going to need more than some fancy camera shakes and some stock effects. I use After Effects to better add some bling to the little things such as muzzle flashes, lighting, and explosions. Trust me when I say these kind of effects make people want to watch your content and it makes your gameplay look even more epic.

I saw the fonts you were using and it seems you're using Vegas also. Vegas and AE make a great combo. Stop with the fade out transition. Montages are fast paced videos with tons of effects to make them look attractive. Make innovative transitions or don't use them at all. For example you can use an explosion to effectively transition to the next kill. If you got a kill with a rocket launcher and the explosion ate up most of the screen you can actually do some quick editing in Adobe with that footage and fade the background whilst still having the explosion completely visible. Overlay that footage in Vegas and put the beginning of your next kill under it.

Montages can be fantastic ways to hone your editing skills. You're on the right path, trust me, but in a year or so with effective editing practice you'll see much improvement in your work.

1: Always make sure that whether you are editing, Fifa or Cod. Always sinc the shots to the music. Even if there is no complex editing, i will always enjoy a good clip that is well in sinc.
2: Use a good Colour Correction, this is important as it changes the way people look at the clips. But use more than one colour correction depending on the map(etc).
3: Mute the game sound and download the sounds for guns and add them in over the top. This way you can make the shots seem as though they are louder or add bass to them(etc).
4: Use gun masks and other interesting transitions. Transitions are very important as the same transition every time can ruin the whole film.

Good luck!
Hope I helped.

Thanks a lot guys, I'll stick at it. I downloaded AE a few days ago and it's pretty difficult to get to grips with but I'm getting better. Thanks again for your advice.

It's alright pal,
And AE takes a while to get used to.
Learn all of the shortcuts and another thing.
Download all the free plugins for AE, like Twixtor and Optical flares ETC.
They make it look really good, just experiment .
