Getting There
I'm currently running an i7-6700k with an rtx 2080. Right now my i7 isn't running up to par with my gpu and would often bottleneck me in games even more so when I have another application open in the background. Don't get me wrong though, the i7-6700k is still a beast in 2020 but I'm still looking for something with more power and multitasking capability.
Right now my current choices are the i9-9900k and the i7-10700k. I would consider the i9-10900k but I can't seem to find where or when it'll come back in stock (I don't think it'll be in stock for a while). Unless someone can find it in stock at a reasonable price then I'll cop that instead.
From my knowledge, it seems that they have the same amount of cores and threads and perform the same. I really want to get the i9 just so I can say I have an i9 in my system (lol) but is there a reason for me to get an i7-10700k over the i9?
I mainly use my computer to play games like civ 6, valorant, league, couple of AAA games, editing, and a lot of multitasking.
Also I prefer not to get an AMD as I am not really familiar with their products, and I'm just a filthy intel casual.
Budget is not an issue.
EDIT: I play in 1080p 144hz
