I’m on Xbox one, and trying this glitch but I can’t get the corner map to disappear when doing the apartment style step and entering the heist room...

I’m doing it just like the video explains, stand close to the door, select modern or moody or any of one of them that I don’t have, press A, and screen goes black so I hold forward with the analog and spam right on the dpad, obviously while entering the heist room... but I’ve tried at least 30 - 40 times with no luck...

Any tips? Maybe it’s patched?

The closest I’ve gotten, just like in the video when you walk in spamming right on the Dpad and holding forward in the left analog, the heist menu pops up very quickly, just like in the video. But when I press B to back out, the map is gone, but shows up again just a second or two later, sorta like it resets my player because my camera view also resets facing forward... maybe rockstar did a patch?

Try bouncing around until you end up in a public lobby with just a few people and then try the glitch. If that works then maybe try a friend or crew room to do it alone.

Still working perfectly on PS4 after a full restart this morning (8:15 EDT). Your mileage may vary. A few experiences/observations:
  1. I always do it in an invite-only session, just to keep loading times quick and avoid any potential interference during my brief times "outside."
  2. I use the old Broontango method — remap your controller to the FPS settings set, so you can just press down on the left analog stick to sprint while spamming the right d pad key. A bit awkward on the PS4 as opposed to the XB1 given the different controller positions (I have to use my right hand on the left stick, while using my left hand to hit the d pad buttons), but workable with a bit of practice.
  3. I aim for the center of the door while heading into the heist room. This may be just happenstance, but I've found that any delay while entering the room (e.g., bumping into the door jamb on my way in) messes up the timing.
  4. I set up out in the room, making sure I'm aiming straight for the heist room door once I've got the particular room preview selected (since your position will potentially change when selecting that preview). I start sprinting forward (stick forward, then press down as soon as I'm moving), then start spamming just before I get to the door.
  5. As for exactly when to hit the right d pad, I think there's a very narrow window when it'll work. Some people can likely just hit it once at the exact moment, but for those of us who aren't quite so precise, spamming gives the best chance of happening to hit it at the right moment. (And if it doesn't work, try again.)
  6. Once you're in the heist room and looking at the setup board, what you want to see are the frames around the edges of the setup board. This indicates that your room preview didn't reset back to your normal settings, and your minimap won't reappear. If you do not see those frames, then that means your game is in the process of setting your apartment back to its normal style, and it didn't work this time. After a second or two, the frames will reappear along with your minimap (and, if you started turning or moving, your point of view will often shift back to looking at the board). So the instant I go in, I know if it worked or not. When it does work, your minimap will be gone and your apartment will still be set up in the style you selected to preview.
  7. Like it or not, sometimes I can not get it to work in a particular session (I'd say about 10% of the time). If I haven't hit it after about a dozen tries, I'll pop out to the creator, then back into another invite-only session and start again. But this is rare. I usually hit it within about the first eight attempts or so.
  8. There doesn't seem to be any difference as to which apartment style you select to preview. I tend to cycle through them each time, but that's mostly so I can keep track of how many attempts I've made (and just for a bit of visual variety). I've had it work on any and all of them.
Hope this helps at least a few people!

Just want to point out that it already took me over 30 minutes to make the appartment part work (I hate changing sessions). My guess is that it has more to do with timing than the session.

I'm sure some of you did this already, but create yourself some custom jobs and place them the closest possible to where you need to teleport (bunker, appartment and garages) to shave off some of the walking/ running time.
