It's been a very long time since I have done any Halo 2 mods, and I just thought I'd get back into it for fun. I am attempting to swap the projectiles on any weapon, and they simply are not altering in game. I have used the UberVisibleProjectileTool to enable the visible projectiles, go to the weapon and swap out the proj tag with another proj(ex. smg bullet for banshee bomb), then I click save changes. I resign using CMR2 and transfer back to my external HDD and plug it back into my RGH. I load a different map, end game, and load up the supposed modded map with the altered weapon as my starting, however, when I fire the weapon nothing is changed. Is there something I am overlooking or simply forgot about? I have searched both on here and through Google, but no luck. It's been going on for a couple of days now.

2.1.24 is the newest entity
I just attempted to use 2.1.24 and got the same error message. I even tried to run in compatibility mode.

Where are you transferring these files to (what directory)?
The maps are saved in a couple locations, so I copy the map to both. They are;
Usb0>Games>Halo 2>Maps
Hdd1>Compatibility>Xbox1>TDATA>4d530064>$c>then the 4 folder containing dlc maps

try this:
find a map on your hdd and remove it. then start the game and try to load that map. if you're able to load it then that's not the right directory.

Should I remove from a specific hard drive, or from both?

Edit: I deleted the map Gemini from both of my directories, and I failed to load the map. So I know one of them is the correct directory, but don't know why the mods won't work.

Now just try putting it on 1 hdd and see how it works. IIRC, the DLC maps will have to be on the drive mounted to the motherboard (not the usb connected hdd...assuming that's how your set up is).

Okay, so I transferred Gemini back to my external hdd and moved it back to the hard drive. At this point, the map is only on the hard drive and not the external. I loaded up Halo 2, selected the map and it loaded. Before I transferred the map, I used the UberVisibleProjectile tool to make it to where everything would shoot a rocket, and it works! I don't know why it matters to have it on one hdd and not the other, but I'm not complaining. Thanks for all of your help AzzidReign, VinnyHaw, and Redherring32!

Edit: Backwash still isn't working though :frown:

This is weird, so i'm going to guess the same steps were going and the map is on the hdd and not external

That is correct. I followed the same steps as I did for Gemini, I even loaded up other maps beforehand just in case of cache issue.

Maybe you need to delete from the hdd and then move the modified from the external to the 'internal'.

No his/her issue is what I have with entity, its best to have entity on your desktop at ALL TIMES when modding halo 2, go to your settings and define all the paths for mainmenu.map, shared.map and single_player_shared.map. Rename your plugins folder in entity to "plugins" it needs to be that. Nobody argue with me on that matter as I had alot of issues with entity with the same errors. So once you rename it to plugins and define the folder. In the settings tab UNTICK use registry for settings, and change auto update to never. Now click save! Once saved, close entity and re-open it. Once opened back up, go back to settings and check plugins file path and see if it saved (it wont always save it's 50/50) so if it didn't save, everytime you open entity you have to define the plugins in settings and click save again. Now open a .map and ta daaaa MAGIC. Hope this helps. Need anymore help pm here or on discord CabooseSayzWTF#4421

ALSO when it comes to projectile swapping I don't understand what you could be doing wrong. It works 99% of the time on my end... I can only assume you have the dlc installed and latest update. Personally its best to not use a update from my experience but rather to just add the dlc maps to the mainmenu, if you have the dlc installed delete it it's not really needed. Just add the dlc maps to the mainmenu with a mainmenu editor. Now modify said map and try again. Make sure you delete you x360 cache and xbox original cache (No idea which one you are playing on), but if you're on a rgh xbox 360 go to the compatibility folder/xbox/cache or something like that and delete all the cache.

But I also have a feeling you might have two halo 2 copies on your xbox but I may be wrong. I do all halo 2 modding on my rgh

This seems to have fixed the issue. Dunno how, but it did.

No idea then. That's how I make it work for me, unless a map is protected which some modders have done on there modded maps. However you might want to go to settings every time and reclick your plugins folder, Click save, open .map and click your tag you want to mess with, also are you using entity 2.1.2.4

I had to actually edit the settings xml file for some of the settings to hold.

The maps are not protected, as they are the stock maps. I pulled them straight from the halo 2 disc and from my hard drive. I have tried to use every entity, and always come back with the same error.

I'll take a look at mine and see if there's anything wrong with it.

EDIT: Everything on the usersettings.xml file look good. :S
