That and making the game unbelievable. The last thing I'd ask for is a flying unicorn with a gatling gun attachment and light up hooves.
I agree. This game is mean't to be based in the past.

There is still some potential opportunities.
Longer complex missions, heist like bank robberies, running a brothel lol, gambling on riverboat casinos.
Will be interesting to see what develops.
If they go down the battle royale like fortshite then I think the game will die out.
there is definitely a huge potential here. They could also introduce mining for gold, copper etc. Owning a stage coach operation, saloon, river boat and more. I would like to see mansions with stables and field hands to work crops also. They could design it similar to the GTA nightclub where your plantation/ ranch earns income.

they could also open up a new territory out west. With more dangerous animals and indigenous Indians (Apache, commanche etc) that will take your scalp! Make it a very sparse land were survival is even more difficult.

I still enjoy the game quite a lot but it isn’t as fun as it once was but that happens with everything.

I’m just focusing on the fact that the game’s online multiplayer is still in beta stages and hope that it will get better with many more features to give us all an excuse to stay up and play all night.

I used to play RDR on Xbox 360 all night long on a school night because not only was I a crazy mofo back then, but the game was actually a lot of fun and there were things to do. As I’ve grown older, I’m less inclined to form parties with other players I don’t know as a lot of them are very young and I don’t enjoy that.

This game will definitely require a group of friends to play and enjoy to the fullest.

yea, the older games were definitely a lot more addicting. prob cuz the game company focused on content and player enjoyment instead of microtransactions and releasing the game as quick as possible so they can monetize it quick. I honestly dont mind the microtransactions, but I at least expect to be given a complete game if the company is asking for extra real money.
Honestly, even with friends we got bored of the game within the first two weeks. I just continued grinding until i bought everything in the game and stopped.

something of value!

I think whenever I started, there were obvious gripes that I think a lot of people shared and they've clearly improved on some of them - the God awful character creation for a start.

But... Its growing on me the more I play it. Had a few hours to play around with it again today - Posse'd up with a few randoms: good laugh. The 'Revive' thing has got me some new people to play with.

Small amounts, folks. Do it slowly.

Its boring to you. But that doesnt mean its boring to others. Your wording is also disrespectful and makes you sound childish.

I don't think it's ever been boring for me. It's just not that important so I'm mostly ambivalent towards it and take it as it comes. You sit and you watch a film, you go to the pub, you go shopping, you take your dog for a walk - it's just another way to spend time, isn't it? Gaming is just one hobby of many [not a life choice or an obsession] so it fits in nicely with everything else. I get why people may find it boring but... Meh, I don't. Did some things in the 'Kersone and Tar' mission today that involved a guy trying to grief me and resulted in a good laugh for 3 or 4 minutes.

As I say, as it stands now, it's a rich source for improvement and for the while I don't mind getting the heads up on those switching off at level, say 6 or 7, so everything is there to get once the updates drop and they all come back on and [no doubt] complain about everything being out of reach because they didn't stick around, or find any other reason to complain about it rather than do the easy thing and switch off. The game just isn't for some people.

Unfortunately, if the derailing and bickering persist. Infractions will have to be handed out.

a few more months!?!? of beta? jeezus, i should have waited to buy this game. ill forget i own it by the time beta ends

https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/60804/Red-Dead-Online-Beta-Update
I'd like to assume that the main point that people buy the game for is the story, but that's just me.

I agree though, couple months is excessive. They're probably going over everything and attempting to make everything perfect, so they aren't releasing anything half ***'d.

beta was released "half***d, whether you're old school and buy it for the story mode or not, the market has changed -- the money, the legacy, is in online gaming these days. There is a whole new generation of squeakers armed with their parents credit cards and oblivious to the value of real money who don't even know GTA has a story mode, but i bet theyve been the highest source of revenue for R*. i guess the pressure was on to get this game released though--it had already been delayed

The story was great, dont get me wrong...but i'm an obsessive loser and went through the story twice now. I've found RDO so minimal that I cant even play it anymore. i could have waited, bought the game for half price in march/april, and still had the story complete before anything good gets released for online. At least when i get bored in GTA i can dupe cars. cloning horses sounds like it would be a good time, but it hasnt become a reality yet

Lmao, this line actually had me bust out laughing.

I see what you mean and I just wanted to point out, I'm more of a casual player when it comes to GTA and RDR. Waiting new content out doesn't affect me as much because I could manage the time and come back to the game at a later date.

But, I do understand the drive of wanting to keep playing a game with new content and improved gameplay because I have games that I love and still grind out daily for hours on end.

This.

When R* said it'd be Beta, I didn't believe them. I still don't. I just think they wanted to rush out the most complete incarnation of it they could just in time to monetise before for Christmas. I object to the idea of paying real life money for gold if ultimately the development hasn't been completed (not that I will anyway) but it still doesn't prevent me from going on there as and when I want to play it for what it is.

Obviously, I think most would have preferred if it'd been released in a more complete form but I guess we'll never know if the same criticism would have been warranted at that point. I'm of the belief that we get the updates as and when R* finish them hot off the press, and that being the case, I'm perfectly content to just wait so long as the result is worth it.

Point of note though - there's been a lot of press about R* workers under a lot of pressure. If you watch the credits, you'll see a lot of development took place in India. Getting the game you want is all fine and great but if its at the expense of human rights, people might want to share some empathy for the employees.

They dont have the Content ready. But had an internal Releasedate for the Game. Offline was ready, Online not.

Dont get me wrong, I loved the Offline, Ive got a 100% and every Singleplayer Achievement except the 70 Goldmedals in Campaign Levels but I dont see myself playing the Online Part, I got to Level 16,17 and I cant stand playing a single bit anymore sadly.

Loved story but got tired of online very quickly. Between the crashing, trolls, unfinished story, bugs, endless grind, nerfing prices for fish/pelts, I think cockstar really taking the piss. They quick to bring in gold bars to an unfinished game yet cant fix bugs we have been reporting. I'll stick with story mode
