is this even worthwhile? Compared to cougar hunting e.g? I can get a cougar in not even 5 min from the nearest butcher.

This sounds like it's more of a hassle than of use.

Hmmmmmm I'm pretty sure the Lake Sturgeon don't sell for $7.25 after shooting them. Every time I've done that it pretty much wipes out the value.

Yeah they still sell for perfect after shooting somehow. I've shown me selling them in the video

You can pick up as many fish as you can carry doing the first of these methods. That with the bigger fish will sell for much more in no time at all!

Had a quick look at the creek but not my bag. Already knew of the others.
I got 10 small bass that sell for $20 quite quickly.
Look out for muskrats there though.
I got 6 in same time picking fish up.
Carcass sells for $4 so I ended up with a quick $40 including skins.
I can make more money off my regular hunting route though.

Good post though so thanks for sharing.

any tips on which lure to use to spawn in trouts and similar fish? There're always muskies and catfish or longnose gar spawning, which I only can transport one at a time.

I've never understood the concept of using Lake Lure. I've always found live worms to work just as well in attracting larger fish - you just have to hit the spot where they're swimming and can reel them in no problem.

I still maintain Blackwater is the best place for fishing. Down to the right of the docks you can usually get Sturgeons spawning.

Here, in fact:

You can usually find two or maybe three. Shoot them or fish them, carry one straight back to the butcher's and put one on the back of your horse. Takes 5 minutes and you make (I think) $7.25 each fish.
