This is a very large mod, it has over 500 files in it so it requires a very large guide to teach you how to use it properly. Do not skim this. Setup is simple but knowing how to use this properly is essential. If you do the wrong thing without understanding fully how this mod works you could potentially crash an online match. This mod will not get you banned.



Features

  • CFW (Jailbreak) users can use online, OFW users can use offline only
  • Can spawn any weapon on all 11 maps including DOA if the weapon exists on that map, so no Thunderguns on "Five" for example
  • Can spawn any special hidden weapons that shouldn't available on certain maps, but if spawned online they crash the server, and therefore are set aside in a special offline only menu. Each map has a host and nonhost weapon menu, all maps except Kino Der Toten, Moon and Dead Ops Arcade have a special weapon menu
  • 5 custom weapon classes for each map, that is 20 weapon binds for each map ready to be customized by you
  • All weapon menu's have a nonhost mode
  • (Loop) DOA first person view
  • (Toggle) Noclip (Fly Through Walls)
  • (Toggle) Ufo mode (Fly Through Walls with a Fixed Height)
  • (Toggle) God mode
  • (Toggle) Freeze zombies (Host Only)

  • (Loop) Control zombie health (Make zombies so weak you can insta-kill them or so strong you can harvest points off them easily. Not wise to do with large crowds. The first 4 options affect zombies alive on the map but not zombies spawned in the future, but there is also a permanent instakill option and a permanent immortal zombies option, while setting 7 resets zombie health back to normal after a brief instakill)
  • (Toggle) Semi-automatic weapons become fully automatic (Host Only)
  • (Toggle) Fully Automatic Dual Weild Weapons (Host Only)
  • (Loop) Control Player Speed (Host Only)
  • (Toggle) Modify Clip Size (Host Only, if you toggle the clip size to the smallest setting where all your weapons have a single bullet and modify Speed Cola then when you have Speed Cola your left hand gun on any dual weild weapons will become fully automatic. This mode used to have side-effects but that has been fixed, all your guns should operate just fine.)
  • (Toggle) Grenades stick to the ground when they land (Host Only)

  • (Button) Zero Sniper Sway (Host Only, pull out a sniper and aim with the scope after activating and restoring your normal button binds by moving. Hold your breath until you hear your player gasp. At this point your sniper will have no sway for the duration of the round. It's incredibly steady, like you are always holding your breath. This will not activate if you have Deadshot Daiquiri, and therefore will not activate after turning Zues Mode on either. You can activate this before turning Zues Mode or Deadshot Daiquiri on and it will work just fine with them, but it needs to be activated before them)

Zues Mode Features

  • Give modded perks to yourself and your friends. These perks will not disappear when you go down and they will not display a perk icon but they will work

Basic Controls

Some of the menus will change the colour of the scoreboard to show when they are open.

Moving restores your basic controls. Therefore if a zombie sneaks up on you while you are in a mod menu you could restore your buttons to normal pretty fast. There are 2 main kinds of options in my mods. Toggles and loops are similar, but a loop will always start on the first setting while a toggle will always switch to the next setting. For example if a setting had 3 options, lets say 1 2 and 3 and it were on 2 then a toggle would toggle to 3 then 1 then 2. A loop would always start on 1 then 2 then 3 then 1, even if it was already on 2. There are also buttons, which make more temporary adjustments that cannot be disabled, they just run their course, and binds, which change what buttons do until they are unbound even after the match ends and a new match is started, and settings which will make adjustments that will always be constantly active while the mod is active


Mod Menu 1 [RED and BLACK]

Start and then press Select --- (Toggle) Scoreboard
Start and then press Triangle --- (Toggle) God Mode
Start and then press Circle --- (Button) Delete zombies (This can have some permanent effects on some maps, like deleting the doctor on "Five" making it impossible to progress, or permanently deleting George in Call of the Dead for the duration of the match)
Start and then press X --- (Toggle) Noclip (Use this to go wherever you want, but some areas will kill you if you go where your not supposed to. You can even turn the power on early or buy perks in rooms with closed doors while noclipping, or fly around when you are down, kinda. It's kinda hard to turn when you are down, like while you are prone, and if you fly out of bounds you will die the rest of the way instantly. If you turn the power on early on "Five" without calling the big elevator you can trap people in the teleporter. It will try to teleport them but there will be no available locations to teleport. Turning the power on in Moon before opening the first door to get outside the building will kill players who drop down to get outside since the area down there will be off limits until the door is open)
Start and then press Square --- (Toggle) Notarget (You cannot earn points or buy things while this is active)
Start and then press R1 --- (Toggle) Ufo (Similar to noclip)
Start and then press L1 --- (Toggle) Alter time (Host Only, this setting has 3 options, fast time, slow time and normal time. If you slow down time and shoot your gun too much you can crash the game so be careful)
Start and then press R3 --- (Loop) Zues Mode (Host Only, press twice to deactivate, but that will not deactivate the perks granted by Zues Mode) [BLACK]
Start and then press L3 --- (Toggle) Freeze zombies (Host Only)



Mod Menu 2 [ORANGE and BLACK]

Start x2 and then press Triangle --- (Loop) Modify zombie health (There are 6 different choices. Press once to set all zombies health to near 0. Press twice to set all zombies health to 10000. Press three times to set all zombies health to 100000. Press 4 times to set all zombies health to 1000000. Those first 4 options only affects zombies currently alive. The next two are more permanent. Press 5 times for permanent instakill. Press 6 times for immortal zombies. These permanent options work by binding to your joystick, so you modify zombie health each time you move. Press 7 times to reset zombie health back to normal
Start x2 and then press Circle --- (Loop/Bind) Bind R1, L1, R2 and L2 with give ammo. Press twice to unbind
Start x2 and then press X --- (Loop) Allow long distance stabbing (<-- Host Only) and change Dead Ops Arcade camera view to first person view. You must enter the next screen to restore aiming buttons to normal when changing the camera view back to normal. Press twice to deactivate
Start x2 and then press Square --- (Loop) Convert semi-automatic weapons to fully-automatic (Host Only) Press twice to deactivate
Start x2 and then press R1 --- (Toggle) Modify Clip Size (Host Only, there are 3 settins. One for giant ammo clips, another for tiny ammo clips, and another for restoring default clip size. If you toggle the clip size to the smallest setting where all your weapons have a single bullet and modify Speed Cola then when you have Speed Cola your left hand gun on any dual weild weapon will become fully automatic, if you are hosting or offline. This mode used to have side-effects but that has been fixed, all your guns should operate just fine. This works because modding Speed Cola to allow reloading instantly, then modding clip size to 1 bullet forces an instant reload each shot, simulating full auto in some weapons)
Start x2 and then press L1 --- (Toggle) Toggle player speed between 200 300 400 and 500 (Host Only)
Start x2 and then press R3 --- (Button) Drop weapon
Start x2 and then press L3 --- (Toggle) Grenades stick to the ground (Host Only)



Mod Menu 3 [YELLOW and BLACK]

Start x3 and then press Triangle --- (Loop) Turn the screen bob while running off. (Host Only, doesn't work properly while nonhost but it does make everything look kinda ****ed up while running) Press twice to turn it back on
Start x3 and then press Circle --- (Loop) Make dead zombies float) Press twice to deactivate

Mod Menu 4 [GREEN and BLACK]

Start x4 and then press Triangle --- (Loop) Mod Double Tap Rate of Fire (Host Only, with this your fully automatic guns will shoot about 10 or 15 shots a second. It's hard to say really, all your fully automatic guns shoot too fast to count and single shot guns like the Zeus Cannon can shoot really fast too if you press shoot really fast or use a turbo button. I turned off the limits on Double Taps rate of fire, so it will shoot as fast as your game system can make it shoot. This option also includes some tweaks to reduce lag since this option can cause lag with some guns) Press twice to disable
Start x4 and then press Circle --- (Loop) Mod Speed Cola for Instant Reload (Host Only, when combined with modding clip size to a single bullet and the Speed Cola perk this modded Speed Cola can force your left hand dual weild weapons along with a few other weapons to be fully automatic, including Mustang and Sally, Typhoid and Mary and the Porters X2 Zap Gun) Press twice to disable
Start x4 and then press X --- (Loop) Mod Deadshot Daiquiri Accuracy (Host Only) Press twice to disable

Host mode weapon sets only work when you are host or playing offline. Becoming host is simple. I will add a force host mod in the future that should help with that. Other than that, you can open a private match and invite other players, which would make you host every time, or you could get lucky. If not then use the nonhost weapon menu. Some of the weapons will crash the server and kick everyone from the match. These unindexed weapons can only be used offline and are stored in a special section of the host weapon menu's. All the zombie maps except Kino Der Toten, Moon and Dead Ops Arcade have a special weapon menu containing these weapons that can be accessed by pressing L3 after opening the levels weapon menu. So for example you press Select and then Circle to open the "Five" host weapon menu, so you would press Select and then Circle and then L3 to access the "Five" special weapon menu. If pressed correctly the text on your scoreboard will retain the maps colour code, while the blood spatter will change grey, as a warning sign to online users. If you press it accidentally press L3 again before you move to quickly switch your weapon set back, never summon a weapon from a special menu or from the wrong maps weapon menu online or you risk shutting down the match.

The button combinations listed above will bring you to the main page of the appropriate weapon wheels, after that the rest is simple. There is a simple and easy to remember order to every weapon wheel. First there is the main page, the main page always has the maps best wonder weapon as the right button on the DPAD while left down and up are assigned to the most useful weapons for the appropriate map and mode. Press R1 to swap the DPAD with the next page and L1 to the previous page. Press R1 or L1 enough and eventually you will wind up back where you started, like a big wheel. To the right of the main weapon set is the melee weapon set. Up is bowie, right is zombie walk, down is knife and left is sickle. After that is the upgraded weapons, and then the normal weapons, and then 5 pages of colour coded custom weapon pages for you to fill with whatever weapons you want. Those are at the end and so are directly to the left of the main weapon set. The cold war maps (Der Reise, Nacht Der Untoten, Shi No Numa and Verrückt) have far more special weapons than any other map and so have custom weapon selections in the special section as well. Usually the best plan is to choose your weapon and then switch to a custom or main weapon set in case you need a good weapon fast. The normal switch weapon buttons are completely unnecessary when hosting or offline, the dpad can completely take over. Pulling out any weapon on the dpad while in a host weapon menu will also give you a bowie or sickle and ammo while dropping and replacing your weapon with a new one. The nonhost weapon menu by nature has to be much simpler, all it does is give you a weapon, it can't even give it out with full ammo. Your give ammo buttons can take care of that though, once you bind them, and it can still summon any weapon if the weapon exists on the map. All weapons are ordered alphabetically. For more information on what weapons can be summoned on what map, see the images of my notebook stored in the archive linked to at the bottom of the page. Weapons with a black X beside them are special offline only weapons that will shut down an online match faster than you can blink if summoned on that map

In order to make this mod I had to learn every weapon code. I might as well post them here, Dead Ops Arcade weapons are at the bottom. You will need these when you alter your custom weapon classes for each map. This list is also included in the archive with the mod files.

The weapons for each map are listed in my notebook below the list of weapon codes used to spawn them. Any weapon with a black X beside it can only be used offline on that map.

Installation (OFW)

First, if you haven't already played zombie mode, multiplayer mode and campaign mode yet, open each once and then quit game from the pause menu at the first opportunity. For multiplayer mode you just need to open the multiplayer menu once, you don't have to play a match. Now quit game and open "Saved Data Utility (PS3)" in your Game section and copy your Call of Duty - Black Ops save file to a USB. Now install .net Framework 4.5 and restart your computer, you will need it to use RedEye, the save editor for Black Ops games. Everything you need is in the archive file, download link is at the bottom of this post. Once you get RedEye running, load the save file you copied to the USB. It might take a few tries, this program can be glitchy. Then open the "Game Save Editing" tab. You will see 3 sections: GRAD0_MP, GRAD0_CM, and GRAD0_SP. Delete everything in all 3 sections, and press save asset after clearing each section. Double check to see they are all blank, and then in GRAD0_CM paste the following and press save asset, and then save all:

You won't be able to simply right click and paste the code, you will have to press CTRL and V to paste. After pressing save asset and save all, copy all the files from the archive at the download link at the bottom of this post onto the USB with your save file. This will be your mod USB. Each time you run the mod you will have to put this USB with those files on it in the USB port at the far right in your PS3 and copy the save before you launch the game. If it is in the wrong USB port it will not work, do not remove the USB while using the mod. Now you have a few easy modifications to make. If you open the file Mods/CODBO/ZuesMode1 on your mod USB with notepad you will see a bunch of lines near the top of the page that begin with the word "setperk". You need to replace the name "defaultuser" on all those lines with your username, the way it appears when in lobbies so if you have a very long name and it gets cut off for you or player 2 just write it the same way it displays. You also need to change the name "Default_User" with the username for your PS3, not the PSN name, use the name you see when you first power on the PS3, the name you see when opening an offline lobby in splitscreen whilde not signed into PSN. If done correctly then activating Zues Mode will give you modded perks. If you copy some of those lines and add additional lines with your friends usernames you can give them perks too if you are hosting the match. You must also edit DoubleTap1, DoubleTap2, SpeedCola1, SpeedCola2, FlakJacket1, FlakJacket2, UnlimitedSprint1, UnlimitedSprint2, DeadshotDaiquiri1 and DeadshotDaiquiri2 the same way. Don't make any mistakes or you won't be able to give yourself perks! It's all based on your username so this part must be done by you.



Customizing your Custom Weapon Classes

Every map has 5 host and 5 nonhost custom weapon classes that are there purely to be customized with whatever weapons you feel like. The 4 cold war maps also have 5 special custom pages. Modifying them is simple, I posted the weapon codes above, you just need to open the appropriate files and replace the word "defaultweapon" with a weapon code of your choice. This is an example of a weapon code: m1911_zm Figuring out which file to edit is easy, you just need to know a bit about the layout of my mod, and the acronyms. Remember to consult my notebook in the Weapon Lists folder when editing these custom classes. Don't put special weapons in the regular custom classes, (Any weapon on a given maps list works on the level, but special weapons are marked by a black X in the notebook) and only use weapons that belong on that map or it will not work. So no Thunderguns on "Five", etc. All the information you need is in the 5 Notebook images and the weapon code list.

NH --- Nonhost
SP --- Special

Map acronyms are simple, A for Ascension, D1 for Dead Ops Arcade, D2 for Der Reise, it's alphabetical arcronyms. I'll post them all here:

A --- Ascension
C --- Call of the Dead
D1 --- Dead Ops Arcade
D2 --- Der Reise
F --- "Five"
K --- Kino Der Toten
M --- Moon
N --- Nacht Der Untoten
S1 --- Shangri La
S2 --- Shi No Numa
V --- Verrückt

Knowing that lets look at the files we need to edit for Der Reise as an example. You can find the custom weapon class files in the Mods/CODBO/Custom folder. We have NHD2WeaponSelection1, D2WeaponSelection1 and D2SPWeaponSelection1, just for Der Reise custom weapon selection 1 host, nonhost and special menu's. Simply replace the acronym D2 which represents Der Reise with the appropriate acronym to find the name of the file you wish to alter. Custom classes always come in groups of 5, page 5 is always closest to the main weapon class.

If you are on OFW then you are finished, however, this mod will still only work offline for you unless you can jailbreak your PS3. Jailbreaking is easy and free now so I recommend checking if your console is compatible, because the next section is for CFW users only, and will allow you to use this mod online. If you can't do this next part then make sure you aren't even signed into PSN or it will not work.



Using the Mod Online (CFW Users Only)

This part is really quite simple, just one more thing and your done! These mods were patched in an earlier update, so you need to unpatch your game. You have to copy the modified patch file, and the modified eboot to the proper folders, overwriting what is already there, after backing up the original files. Using modified EBOOT files can be risky, in my future post I will show you how to make your own instead. All you gotta do is RSA patch the EBOOT, you can find the info for how to do so online, but stay away from the RSA patcher tool, I think it's a CID stealer. Right now I am just changing the patch, as the old one had serious side-effects, but you can expect a big update in the next few months. Along with a complete how-to on creating the patch and EBOOT files yourself. For now, use at your own risk, or do some research and create your own launcher. Just steer clear of the 1.02 patch, it has serious side-effects, and should be avoided at all costs, hence this update. Atm I only designed this to work online on the BLUS version in english but I will be releasing new patches in the future for the other versions, and you could always build your own launcher instead. To install, simply copy the patch.ff file to dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30591/USRDIR/english and copy the EBOOT.BIN file to dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30591/USRDIR and be sure to backup the original files first. After that, you will not need a save mod. Simply copy all the files to the root of your FAT32 formatted usb and place it in the right-most USB port in your PS3 before launching the game. In the future it will be even simpler, a modified pkg file should do the trick.

No screenshots yet, but if you would like to see images of a few of the features maybe I can work something out. I have no capture card, but I'm on CFW so maybe webMAN will have an ingame screenshotting option, the ingame recording function is sadly of no use with this game. I'll need to buy an elgato or something to do the youtube video, you can expect a video to be released in a few weeks.

You just need to use the screenshot option in xmb ( when you are on game ) bellow picture ^^so you can screenshot with CFW in HD , then just take the picture by filezilla :smile:

Well it looks like your going to have to wait for the video. It seems screenshotting requires opening the XMB, which also opens the pause menu. I can't seem to screenshot the game without the pause menu open but I'll be able to afford a capture card in a few weeks so the youtube video will be online soon anyway. In the meantime if you want to see the mod you will just have to try it yourself

Well I didn't want to use gorilla style cinematography and all, but I could take some video with my phone, just for now. Kind of a short preview until the real video can be recorded and released.

I'll do that and upload it in a few hours.

There is a small bug concerning disabling long distance knifing, but that will be fixed in the next verion, or you can fix it yourself by editing the MeleeRange2 file so it looks like this:

I wouldn't recommend installing this version anymore, it has a few bugs which I will be fixing in the next release, which should be out in the next few weeks.

Did you install the patch.ff file? Anyway, I wouldn't install this version online if I were you, the new version should be released soon and it has many bugfixes.

For my next release, I am working on a HUD and restructuring the menu's to make everything more compact, among other things. This HUD is a ****ing nightmare, it would be great if I were writing the mod from scratch, but as it is I am going to have to restructure the entire weapon system, and it's not something I can do en mass with Notepad++ so have patience. I know there hasn't been a release in a while but that's because I have been hard at work and there are always improvements that could be made and I believe in quality over quantity.

Well actually my mod does work for both players :wink: but it's a little confusing, as the colour codes on the scoreboard affect both players. At least it does on CFW, I never tested 2player modding without a jailbreak since my other console died.

Oh, maybe I messed up when installing it. Thanks for the quick reply. So if I followed the instructions you supplied in the top post correctly, the 2nd player should have the same mod menu options too?

Yeah I believe so, but if not then I guess it's not supported without a jailbreak. I know when I use my modded patch on CFW it works fine, but I haven't used the save file method in a while. If it's not working for you I suppose I can test it later.

Lol oh I see, your on CFW. Then that means you can use the mod online too bro. Enjoy

Also with the modded patch you can skip using the save file. Pay close attention to the instructions, they are important, though the next tutorial should be easier to understand.

Your version is BLUS-30591? There is nothing wrong with the patch, myself and one other tested it. Are you putting the USB in the USB port on the far right? You extracted everything to the root of the USB? The USB is FAT32? You replaced the patch and EBOOT in the game folder, NOT the GAMES folder?

Sometimes when you extract a file, depending on the program, it might extract it into a folder named after the rar file. Did this happen?
