Hello, this is my first post so I might not be the best BUT I’ve started a project trying to rgh a trinity motherboard with an ace v3 glitch chip and an lpt connector (for reading nand and other tasks that require computer connection). For some reason when I try to create my nand dumps, my Xbox cannot be found in jrunner or using nandpro30 through command prompt. I’ve checked the soldering multiple times and it’s not the best but I don’t believe that’s the problem as I’ve checked for shorts and misconnections. I’m also using an lpt to usb adaptor with a shortened cord (about 2cm now). I’m not sure what else to do and looking for help from someone with more experience. Please don’t say to just buy other parts to make it easier as I don’t have much funding for this project. I can add any pictures that may be needed for further investigation, I’m just not sure what you need to see so let me know. Thanks

Could you possibly post pictures of your soldering for us to see?

No problem, How do I do that?
Take pictures on your phone and upload them to Imgur
Once you have them uploaded click the picture logo and paste the link

It should show on the site for the pictures.

Honestly my solder job was pretty sketchy so I made a few connections more secure and added an extra usb with shorter wires to the back of the lpt adaptor in case that has any effect, I know the pictures aren’t the best, but I can’t get a very good angle with all the wires, I checked with a screwdriver to make sure there were no accidental bridges (that’s what caused the scratches, oops) none of them are deep or crossing lines in the board though so I don’t think it’ll matter

After checking my soldering I'm still getting the same error message :/

Command Prompt Code:

C:\WINDOWS\system32>cd\

C:\>cd users\colton\desktop\nandpro30

C:\Users\Colton\Desktop\Nandpro30>nandpro usb: -r16 nand1.bin
NandPro v3.0a by Tiros

Looking for usb interface device

Won’t Work How You Have It Setup, Has To Be Full LPT Connection, Not LPT To Usb, Also Your Operating System Has To Be 32bit.

Also Wow Soldering Sure Needs Improvements For You To Get Solid Connection Couldn’t Help But Notice You Didnt Use Any Flux At All...

Also I’m Not Sure There’s Away To Program A X360ace With LPT, I’m 100% Sure You Need A Actually Programmer (J-R Programmer / Nand-X)

Thanks for the reply, this is my first time soldering and messing with this so I know it’s bad :frown:. I did see a way to do this all over lpt here though https://quade.co/2017/trinity-rgh/ if I need to, I can install a 32 bit windows on another hard drive, but why won’t an lpt to usb adaptor work?

Get a nandx or Jr-progammer from The Weekend modder (Nand X or JRPv2) or another reliable shop. Work on your soldering on some metal or the back of your consoles metal casing, you won't get a good boot time with soldering like that.
Get Flux and a fiberglass scratch pen
"How to RGH a Trinity with Ace V3 and CR4 speed up files" -WeekendModder
[Click here to view this link]- virus scan for the files
Ace V3 (Not a novice install, but with flux and practice you can do it):
maxresdefault.jpg

Bottom of the install for the "C" point (Also has alternate "D" or cpu_rst point, I recommend the "D" point in the above picture though.):

Hope this helps.

Is there a cheaper version of the jr programmer? (the nand-x is ridiculously expensive for only doing one or 2 consoles) I've seen suggestions to use a matrix nand programmer. Any instructios for how to use those? (I'm trying to do this with literally just pocket change.) Thanks.

Edit: I am now also using electronics solder with flux in it to try to clean up my soldering. Also the Acev3 I have needs updated timing files for trinity, how can I do that cheaply? My computer has no lpt port so would the lpt to usb adaptor I have work for that?

Newsk is correct. I recommend a JRPv2, it’s worth it in the long run if you ever need to reflash, program, etc. buy the JRP I linked from Weekend Modder, it comes with the jumper pins to make programming easy as can be. Just make sure to use a DATA cable not a charging cable. I went to Best Buy and got a $13 480mbs data mini-b cable and worked like a breeze. I can, and many others can help you through the entire process. Just purchase the basics please.

Thanks for all the advice, but as I do not have any funds for this project, I was able to find an old laptop in my basement with an lpt port so I’m going to continue trying that method. If this doesn’t work and throws the same errors, I will have to wait a few weeks to buy a jr2. Thanks for all the help, I will continue posting as I go.

The laptop is an old ibm and has a boot + bios password, how do I bypass this?

It ended up being only a bios password and I was able to remove the cmos battery to reset it, I then booted from usb to run a password recovery tool and am now reading my nand (first dump) I’m extremely happy that this worked and I was able to save some money, for everyone who says you need to buy expensive tools- you don’t have to, it just saves time  now I just gotta figure out the wiring for the 360ace chip...

What You Need To Figure Out Is How You Gonna Program The X360ace V3.

Also Lpt Takes Forever To Read Nand. Not Gonna Lie That’s How I Started In 2010 But It’s Takes 2 Hour To Read Nand. That’s When I Decided To Buy A Nand X Bundle.

I got my nand dumps done, but how do I connect my ace v3 to an lpt connectior?
