As of 10AM Pacific Time this morning, BO4 has been revealed.
What are your thoughts?
What are your thoughts?
I don’t think I’ll be getting this on launch, BUT maybe I would a long ways down the road.
Pros:
Holy hell, they are brining back Mob of the Dead with the original four zombies characters (WWI Timeline). I so hope it is the FULL island. I know back in the day when MOTD was being made they had made all of Alcatraz island but had to scale it down because the 360 and PS3 couldn’t handle how big the map was.
I really like the idea of having to choose to heal. Much more tactical.
Thank god that there is no wall-running or jet packs.
Three zombies maps is great.
Having zombies with over 100 modifiers in terms of health and zombie behavior is smart for sure.
The operators’ tools showcased seemed interesting and the idea of customizing weapons with operator-specific attachments seems tactical.
The whole Battle Royale mode callbacks to Reznov, Woods, and Mason, the zombies crews, and actually using vehicles (first time we’ve got proper vehicles in a CoD game since WaW).
Cons:
No campaign. I know people don’t play CoD for the campaign anymore, but damn it if people didn’t enjoy WaW and BO1 for their campaigns. Again, they made these callbacks to characters that were super well-written like Reznov and Woods, so they are more than capable of making a quality campaign.
The new zombie characters at first glance seem sort of “eh” to me.
I wish they would have shown more of the map layouts for multiplayer. Concerned if the maps will be too small.
While I’m glad that they are not doing wall running and discount Titanfall jump jets, I wish we would be in a modern setting as opposed to a futuristic one. I admit though that is notion is ALL preference.
Not sure why they are trying out spawn beacons (reminiscent of Battlefield) and deplorable barbed wire (reminiscent of R6 Siege), but maybe it will help mix up the flow.
Battle Royale mode, nostalgia aside. I know it works in CoD online (the Chinese version of CoD), so it could probably work here too. I’m just kind of saddened that this is what might have taken away the opportunity for making a campaign that could live up to WaW or BO1.
