After lurking for the past few days I finally decided to make an account because the information on this is either dated, scarce, or difficult to comprehend, especially for a super noob like me.
I would like to run Linux on my Xbox 360 using the King Kong Exploit but don't know how.
Although I have found some walkthroughs using the waybackmachine and even this forum, I cannot find a complete step by step guide for using linux on your Xbox 360 LiteOn via the King Kong Exploit (in the most resourceful manner possible).
I don't want to play games on it, and I don't care about getting banned from xbox live because I have no accounts on this xbox. I just want to use my Xbox to run linux while its connected to the internet. And though most tutorials are for Gentoo, I would like to do it with Ubuntu if it is possible.
1. I have an Xbox 360 Jasper from 5/16/2009 with a LiteOn drive. (no JTAG, no RGH, no Flash)
2. I have an original copy of the King Kong Game
3. I have 2 rewritable DVD's but not sure if they are the double layer 8 GB and I have an 8 GB flash drive for moving any of the files.
I have no soldering skills or tools beyond a couple of screwdrivers and am too broke to buy any of the pieces required to flash an xbox 360 according to the tutorials I've seen.
I have read ways of people doing this via hotswap on BenQ but I do not know if it could be done with a LiteOn.
Does anyone know of an updated and comprehensive guide/tutorial for this? Maybe even a video tutorial so I can verify my work? Its 2018 so I figured there had to be SOMETHING out there on doing this easily. If anyone here can help with working links it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
