Solved Jasper RGH 1.2 16mb model slow boot time, looking for opinions

Usually for me 16mb Jaspers give me slow boot times, I've tried using different coolrunners, double checked my soldering, tried many different timing files and nothing. I even bridged JP and "3 2" on the coolrunner to see if it would improve boot times and it did by a few seconds, but it still takes about 30 seconds or longer.

Falcons and bb Jaspers give me very fast boot times, but never 16mb Jaspers.

Your help and opinions would be appreciated.

I R-Jtopped a jasper (bb 512mb though!) that I had (thanks to killjoy666). I get many instaboot boot to 3 second boot times. You can read my troubleshooting thread and read the guide that I used.

You can definitely repurpose your rev-c (a rev-d will work as well) but it will need to be flashed with different pre-compiled timing files (for r-jtop) and you'll need to buy 22k ohm resistors. R-jtop requires the jtag wiring along with the chip wiring. You'll be soldering the resistors as well.

R-jtop is the open-source version of team executer's closed-source r-jtag glitch exploit. The guide that I used has everything that you'll need and my thread will show you what I had issues with.

Wait does this work on any Jasper? Or do I need a certain dashboard?

Bridge CAP and route the PLL/RST/POST_OUT wires all together through the hole that's right below the 3v3 point. Trim your wires and use the rgh1.2_18.xsvf timing.

Keep the PLL and RST wires close to the xclamps or it will make the console freeze on boot

Yeah! Exactly. If the wires touch or are close proximity to the coils beneath the board then the booting and times will be affected. I totally forgot to suggest this.

Yes. you can certainly try it . The capacitor typically helps on jaspers in my experience .u can easily revert back to 1.2 and try it again with cap bridged if it doesn't help as rjtop.

Thanks for your help, I did what you said and the console boots fast now. Thank you.

Rjtop helped a little but was too slow, I reflashed the og nand and rgh 1.2 the console and it boots fast now, thanks for the help.

Thanks for the rjtop tut, never heard of it and I like it because of the old school jtag wiring, I love the old jtag hack. I have 2 Jasper jtags, 1 256mb and 1 512mb, currently looking for a 16mb Jasper JTAG.

R-JTOP can be either slow or fast depending on how many fuses the console has blown.
R-JTOP is open source and i think you can edit the timing file to work with your particular console.

Here's my console's fuses. Booted first glitch all the time

R-JTOP is open source and i think you can edit the timing file to work with your particular console.

How can the timing file be edited and how can one get the right boot time? It was impossible to get help at the razziel forum (source of r-jtop & support) to learn to compile and get the timing for the file.

I downloaded the hard disk image file from DrSchottky's git page but finding the tool for compiling was very vague.
