Wow! Very nice first a first build my friend! Only things I'd change is the color of the case and would've gotten the newer NZXT cooler but that's me just being selfish lol. Nice job on your first build though man enjoy

I bought the wrong one, lmao. I mistook the x61 for the x62 :/ I was hoping the red would be less out there, but it's not too bad for how I plan on using it. I'll be changing all of the LED's to red. I'd probably go with all black if I had a choice to change it though. Thanks though, I definitely will!

I already had the two and didn't want to spend 600 for a decent monitor lmao :frown: would you say 1440@60 or 1080@144?

144Hz at 1080p, or if you have even more money to spend, 1440p (or even 4k!) at 144Hz (or even more, although the difference between e.g. 144, 165 and 200 apparently isn't very distinguishable (at least compared to the night and day difference of 60 and 100+)), and ultra-wide (or even super-ultra-wide (lmao)) or standard 16:9, whichever you prefer.
So in any case you're definitely going to want to update yourself to at least 144Hz.

And since you play OSRS (nice, true man, add me in-game if you want, in-game name "Meoow") and were to be worried about the client size being quite small in 1440p, apparently it's extremely quick to get used to.

I looked up some time ago for a 1440p 144hz but acer pred's are like, 600 bucks. I don't know if I want to spend quite that much yet. I'll probably wait until the HP 22er dies and/or want a new one, and switch it out for a 1080 144 (or if they're cheaper by then, a 1440 144)

You can get a 1440p 144hz IPS Freesync Panel for $400. You won't be able to use Freesync on your Nvidia card but its a good deal not factoring in Sync.

Nixeus Edg 27 (Best 144hz 1440p IPS non curved monitor) or Pixio PX277 are good budget monitors

Most monitors produces above 60hz these days will come with Freesync.

Yeah 144hz seems good. But 4k is meh There are no good 4k 144hz panels that cost less than one first born son.

Even if it were noticeable its the problem of

1) Getting 165hz in games.
2) Bottlenecks elsewhere.

The Asus 165hz monitor has higher processing latency on 165 that its actually worse than 144hz mode. Also I believe default windows driver for mouses give 125hz polling rate which means u should either overclock ur polling rate or buy a new mouse. (Many mice come with drivers that go above this. My new mouse comes 500hz polling rate)

What are the response times on those? Would ghosting be a major issue with one of them?

Yeah, mentioned the 4k stuff there just to mention it.
Like I did with super-ultra-wide.
I guess that's something you'd only get if you were really rich & the higher response rate wouldn't be a problem for your type of usage.

My mouse comes with 1000Hz polling rate :o

Pixio list 4ms & Nixeus list 4ms as well however marketed response times are not always very accurate TFTCentral has good benchmarks on response times the Pixio has the same panel as the Asus one which is about 5ms total response times (counting processing latency) which is actually the best non TN panel they have tested Nixeus isn't on their list yet nor is the Pixio may be a tiny bit slower but still one of top tier response rates.

Its technically not IPS but AHVA which is actually what most 144hz IPS panels are. AHVA is probably the best gaming panel you can get its comparable to TN on response rates & comparable to IPS on color quality.

The Asus ROG Swift PG279 uses the same panel as the Pixio so prob around 5-6ms real response time average. I would say anything under 8ms actual average response time is good, but anything marketing as 8ms is gunna be ****.

The Acer Predator X34 lists 4ms yet its actual response rate is 7.9 average with huge variance going up to 15ms longest.

These are all top tier monitors on the list if you grabbed random IPS panels for $99 on this list they would be spiking over 30ms.

I am busy atm but I will try to find the old Edg review I read a while ago showing about just under 6ms on the Nixeus but he benchmarked response rater over HDMI, which has higher latency than Display port. So it should in theory be better than the other monitors.

I'm still waiting for one of mine to crap out because I can't justify to myself throwing out a perfectly working monitor I already own :/
Gets the quality you want out of your video card with seamless gameplay but i'm not gonna push

Yeah, I know it was kind of stupid of me to go overboard on a 1080 with those monitors but such is life. I'll see if anyone wants to buy one off me

I've heard from a few people that i7 is pretty over the top if you're only gaming (such as me). I don't edit very much at all, I don't do any rendering, so I didn't think there was much need for it. I'm sure sometime in the future I'll end up doing an upgrade on it, but as of now it seems to be doing me good
