Hi all, newbie here I'm afraid, but experienced electronic engineer and modder (not of Xbox's hence why im here).
I have an Xbox one with faulty Mboard. Turns on beeps and turns off again. Any advice on possible faulty component would be useful, but mainly my question is this...
I purchased a replacement mainboard, thinking, easy swap, away I go, but noooo couldnt be that simple could it.
So as im sure everyone on here is aware, the HDD and apparently also the Bluray are locked with hardware codes to the original Mboard it came with.
So my question is this. The original HDD and bluray work fine but obviously not in the new motherboard and just boots to diagnostic/reset screen and get error code E106 I think it is or E206 cant remember of the top, apparently because of the hardware lock.

Is there a way to get round this and is there a tutorial that lays it out barebones for me to follow. Im guessing if possible, its gonna be reading some NVRAM or NAND info of the original board (which wont turn on so have to be a standalone chip reader I guess) and copying to the new ne, or some software hack to circumvent it.
Please, any advice on this would be gratefully received as it is now driving me nuts after endless google searching. Only seem to find stuff that needs the original HDD for the Mboard.
Thanks in anticipation

thanks for your reply but that link is just a guide to replacing the board which I have already done. The problem is the Xbox is motherboard is locked to the hard disk and bluray player and it won't work with a different mboard. It just boots to diagnostic mode with an error code. So I need a way to make it accept a different hard disk and bluray. I've found guides to put a bigger hard disk in if u have the original working hard disk fir the motherboard but as yet have found nothing about getting the hard disk and bluray to work with a different motherboard. Thanks

Yeah they are. But either that instructional or another one posted says you need to pull the processor from original board and install on the new board.
May I ask where the extra mobo came from? Donor xbox? Or did you get a new one? If new where did you get it? If donor xbox then nothing stopping you from pulling the chip from old drive and using the old hdd to make the new work.

i got the board off eBay. Ok so I can swap cpu, but don't see how I can use my original Hdd if it won't work on a different mboard. Don't think swapping processor will make it work.

You need the pcb from the optical drive as well. As far as the hdd goes there are tools on microsoft website that will basically install new firmware from scratch. But hdd will be factory reset meaning no old data. But no worries if you had live most of that will download back after logging in.
And after reading your initial post I would guess youve already checked the powerbrick for failure before taking the console apart. So it would seem somewhere your console powered off while getting an update and now your console doesnt know what to boot.
There is a tool on microsoft to do an offline update. Combo pressing buttons on the face of the console to force the update through usb.
