Hi, I have never had a desktop PC before but I am looking to buy one. I'm wondering what you guys would recommend, I want to buy a desktop that has Windows 10 on it, I will mainly be using it for streaming modded lobbies and also editing/recording videos. I don't want to pay crazy money for a PC and I also don't want to end up buying a crap one so I need some suggestions, thanks.

I would be interested in building one myself but I would just be worried that I would spend a lot on the parts etc then mess it up completely

Anyway, Best piece of advice I can give you since you don't wanna spend a lot of money is look on Craiglist or Facebook marketplace for a used gaming PC. NOW, With that being said PLEASE do research on the parts that are in the PC. Most people jack up the price of the PC to make a few bucks. Do not pay more than what the parts are worth in fact sometimes you should even pay less depending on the parts. Also, If you're talking about Twitch.tv you cannot stream modded lobbies on Twitch you may be able to do it on YouTube however.

I appreciate the advice, I'll definitely do my research on parts and have a look around. Yes I would be streaming to youtube, I'm not a fan of twitch

Honestly, I built my own PC many many years ago before it was as simple as it is now. It's easy to do and there are websites out there that make sure you have all the basics covered. If I could do it, anyone can as I started from scratch. Yeah I knew what RAM was, I knew what a hard drive and solid state were but no idea on the order to install these things nor what all I needed to include compatibility stuff.

Trust me it is easy to do and most basic builds can be done in an hour. If something happens, add another hour or so on to that. I can always help if you go this route. You can build a 750 dollar computer that will do everything you want to include play games at an acceptable level. If you do go the per-built route, I'd recommend looking for clearance deals on hardware that is last years model or iteration. Most businesses want to sell that crap so they can get the latest Dells and Alienware on the floor and jack up the prices to something astronomical.

I'm an IT guy by trade but that doesn't mean I know a damn thing about a computer. I do these days but back then I didn't. I was an army soldier working IT and got out teaching the same stuff I worked on. Outside of using a computer to get the job done, I didn't know much. I work on networks and VoIP systems for a living and don't normally break down computers or build them.
