Anyone else having this issue?
I have good internet with NAT open.
Can't last more than like 10 mins in a public online session.

i get it worse on some days and not others. check your mtu settings. any lower than 1200 will result in lag outs
with an mtu of 0, u will always get a solo public lobby and/or lag out shortly joining a public session. ur best bet is to prolly invite others to your session

First questiion: are you wireless?
Next question: have you gone to speedtest.net from your xbox?
If wireless you may have something interfering with you conection.
Best thing for xbox is to have a hard connection to the console.
Are you being booted to solo public session? Or are you getting the network error message?
I can assure you the rockstar servers are up. Though there are friction modifier issues with the cars currently. If you are having connection issues it is on your end. So lets figure it out.

Hard wired.
Ok in private and invite only sessions.
It's the populated online sessions that I have issue.
Network error yes.

Ok, here is a beautiful writeup: https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200525767 Do not skim. Read completely.
I think you need to forward/open some ports. There is a section about xbox specific and gta specific.
One of the things I notice with completely having open connection and forwarded ports is those with strict connection bounce all over the screen like they are intentionally cheating but it never works for their advantage and they usually blow themselves up with rockets...
STRICT: Can only play against open NAT types. These guys are funny to spectate in races they appear to drive off the track and sometime look like they are just sitting. But it's because their connection is slow and they have tremendous packet loss.
If I had to guess you have one of the gta ports that is closing.

LMK if none of this helps you so we can move forward trying other things.

GTA Online requires the following ports to be open:

  • TCP Ports: 80, 443
  • UDP Ports: 6672, 61455, 61457, 61456, and 61458

Xbox Live requires the following ports to be open:

  • Port 88 (UDP)
  • Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
  • Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
  • Port 80 (TCP)
  • Port 500 (UDP)
  • Port 3544 (UDP)
  • Port 4500 (UDP)

Thanks, tried all these set to both. Trying exact now. I'll update.

Also, if you read the link. (And what another post before I posted the link) have you tried dns sertings change to manual then 8.8.8.8 primary
And4.4.4.4 secondary
Sometimes this helps. (For me it slowed my connection)
And I think you said you cleared your xbox one cache... by removing power plug while holding power button and continuing holding for 5 seconds then putting power back to it and turning on?
And two more questions is your console vertical or horizontal? And how full is your hard drive storage?

Yes I've hard reset. (Just holding power button til turns off, waiting then turning on )
Horizontal.
Haven't messed with DNS yet.
Need more time playing. Not home at the moment.
Earlier I got through a set up for s heist with 3 randoms that was it.

Well, hmmm. Horizontal is correct. A full reset requires the power plug to be removed IIRC I think that is on microsoft site...I am not certain though. I wonder how full your hdd is as well. Ive noticed that being over 80% full I have issues with gta bumping me out of sessions.
And I thought you were having freeroam issues. There is a definite problem with missions in general. Playing many rounds of LTS in a row you notice players randomly drop off and huge load time between sometimes then when you get in only half are still there. And sometimes you are the half bumped due to failure to connect to mission. This is not just an issue on xbox though. Pretty sure that fix is coming tomorrow. I suppose if a lobby has enough freeroam missions and is pretty full some may experience this issue as well.
Did this just start last saturday? (Not two days ago but the one prior to that?) If so this may jist be an issue that should be fixed tomorrow along with too slick cars. If you've been having this problem for some time then your connection will likely be the culprit. I am not sure anything in a public lobby is affected though. I dont make patches for R*.
I think ots a result of dupe detect causing issues and was really hoping to see it scrapped. But you know as well as I do thats not gonna happen they will repair the issues its causing and it will continue to develop into a fully functional anti cheat. (Damnit)
