Solved Memory error after installing vehicle mods

I had 4 vehicle mods installed a few days ago and everything was working fine. Today I decided to add about 10 more. Now when I play for about 10-15 minutes I get a memory error and the game crashes. The mods I've added are only visuals that replace existing cars. 2 or 3 of them did have tuning files but I don't think that would cause a memory leak issue.

Anyone have any idea how to fix this without repairing the game and removing all of my vehicle mods?

Is there a way to see which file may be causing the error?

No. There isn't. Vehicle mods for V tend to be high poly, which eats memory. Replacing default vehicles can lead to some serious memory issues as the game struggles to spawn them. That's why so many vehicles are offered as addons instead, since they don't naturally spawn.

No. There isn't. Vehicle mods for V tend to be high poly, which eats memory. Replacing default vehicles can lead to some serious memory issues as the game struggles to spawn them. That's why so many vehicles are offered as addons instead, since they don't naturally spawn.
I did figure out the issues was my leaving chrome open as well. Chrome is using about 2GB of ram and GTA tends to use 5-6GB+. I played for the last 30 minutes or so with no issues. I guess I need to upgrade since I only have 8GB.

The only reason I don't use addon cars is because they don't naturally spawn. Is there another mod that can make them spawn?

Oh, umm, if you locate the file that controls the traffic, you might be able to place the name of the vehicle within that file and then it should spawn in traffic. This worked in GTA: IV; maybe it will work in V?

This is the same principal; tricking the game into only choosing one model.

Open up cargrp.dat and scroll to # POPCYCLE_GROUP_COPS. The first two models on the list are the ones that spawn in traffic. NOOSE and SWAT Vehicles are handled on their own, so sorry, but you can't change that. If you change "police, police2" to "police, police, police2" then police2 will not show up in traffic. This is useful for those who cannot use the TBOGT and TLAD vehicle mod, or simply need another slot for a non-patrol vehicle.

I've provided an example of what file was used in IV to manipulate the police vehicles that spawned. I've then supplied a code snippet of that same file only a more complete version. The trick here that I'm trying to explain is it might be possible to add the modified vehicles to the game's traffic through manipulation of this file's equivalent in V: cargrp.dat.

As you can see, there are a list of cars next to a name followed by a "#" symbol. This, in term, is what vehicles those "groups" will drive. Two that stand out are "# POPCYCLE_CAR_GROUP_BOATS" and "#POPCYCLE_GROUP_MIDTOWN".

If you were to place a modified vehicle amongst the BOATS group, it would spawn along with all the other boats. Same thing if you added it to MIDTOWN; this means all the vehicles that appear in the MIDTOWN district (in IV this was around Chinatown, Algonquin I believe) would spawn including the vehicle you added.

So, try looking for the file used in V to manipulate what vehicles spawn in traffic. Cargrp.dat is its name in IV but I don't know what it is in V, sorry.

With the mod you linked above it comes with 2 car lists that it will read from. I'm going to see if I can edit one and add in the new cars kind of like what you said. Thanks for the info.
