Hey guys, I have been browsing the web for a bit, and I came across someones custom Xbox One which had been constructed into a laptop case. After further research I found that some people take these when they travel as it is almost the same size as a normal laptop and is easily portable. The guy who makes these sells them for $1100 (if you send your console in) or $1395 if you want to buy the Xbox off him. You can also buy one that has both a PS4 and the Xbox One built into it. The laptop uses a 22" screen and has custom cooling fans. The device only requires one cord, as the screen is built in. What I found interesting was that it comes with its own built in wi-fi connection so there is no need to connect to anyone else's internet. Want Kinect as well? Add an extra $100.

I was wondering what you guys thing, is it a good idea and would you buy it for $1100? Personally it is not that bad of a price considering it comes with a 22" screen and its personal wi-fi.

I saw this on here a while back someone posted about. That's a hefty price tag but I bet it's worth every penny. Anything portable that has to do with xbox is worth buying.

Yeah I was not sure if someone had posted it before. I agree with you 100% the price tag is very high, but it does come with a lot of add on's and options which makes it well worth the money.

Yeah. What sounded good to me was the ps4 and xbox one combined. And you said you could even add kinect. That's pretty dope.

He must only use the microphone from the kinect and the camera is probably on top of the monitor. The guy is pretty skilled but.

It's a really cool idea, and it looks really well done.

However that does not look the size of a normal laptop. It looks pretty bulky.

I don't think it comes with a wifi connection. You mean it comes with wifi built in with which you can connect to a wifi connection around you. Wifi connections don't just appear out of nowhere onto your Xbox.

It's pretty bulky and in all honsety other than the fact that it is portable, I can't see it being any better than a regular Xbox One/PS4. I mean you'd have to plug it in somewhere I presume? I doubt there'd be a rechargable battery pack big enough to have the option of an external battery, so it almost begs the question what use does this actually have? I'm happy with the old fashioned TV set up.

Anyone with a brain would know what he meant, no point in pointing that out.

I thought that was pretty clear, you can tether it through your phones 3G and run it off your phone.

The only problem still remaining is the power source, you're still going to need a main outlet most likely, or you could probably get away with a converter in a car. But even so, it's still a big problem in the portable column, because you don't want something that bulky and potentially hot on your lap, do you?
Still a good idea. It's something I've been dreaming about for a few years lol, that and the possibility of an Xbox/Playstation TV. I know a PS TV was made, but it wasn't what I was hoping for. A nice PS4 built in gaming 4K resolution Sony TV, with a 2TB HDD should do the trick. I wonder when consoles will start allowing for hardware uprades for things like the RAM, Graphics Cards etc.

The power source is true, however my Xbox one hardly ever gets hot, this one has multiple fans built in. When I said travel I meant in your hotel room, sometimes on a plane power is available.

My dad's old BMW had TVs built in and at the time we used to take one of our PS2s on long journeys to play in the car which was pretty cool, so I guess this could actually be a really good buy. My other question would be the HDD size, I'm going to explore it, if it turns out you could potentially replace the HDD for a bigger size, I think I'm going to have to invest. It'll be a bit easier than finding a TV to game when travelling, I hate Hotel TVs, especially today when half of them don't have HDMI ports :frown:

It's a really good Idea in my opinion. I'm sure you could make some arrangement to change the HDD size. It would be easy to use in a hotel as you only have to take a power cord.

He said it had its own wifi connection, so "there's no need to connect to anyone else's internet." Yet you knew that what he meant was actually the complete opposite of what he said? That you must still connect to somebody's internet. Wow you're smart!

I thought that was pretty clear, you can tether it through your phones 3G and run it off your phone.

Read above. Why would you find that part interesting? It has the exact same functionality of a normal Xbox one with a wireless network adapter and tethering abilities. Shouldn't have even been mentioned.

Wow someone's in a bad mood, do you need someone to talk to? If you do I'm here to help.

Seriously though, he found the fact that it still has wireless capability after being crammed into a laptop interesting. Why do you care?

Also I knew what he said because it was common sense, but obviously it isn't to common anymore. It's a shame really.

He suggested that it literally has it's own internet connection and doesn't require internet from an outside source. I pointed out that he misunderstood. The fact that you completely misunderstood his misunderstanding to the point of you actually suggesting that he's right just goes to show how much common sense really is lacking in here, it's just not from me.
