Quick and to the point. I will try to give as many details as I can. Also, all of the solutions that I have tried, have taken place over the period of 3 days.
Hardware: Xbox 360 Star Wars edition console Connected through WiFi via a Comcast Modem with built in WiFi, no nouter.
Problem: A few nights ago I was watching Netflix when I was disconnected from Xbox LIVE, suddenly, in the middle of an episode of Psych. I tried to re sign in... no good. So I turned my Xbox off and unplugged my modem for a few minutes and then re-plugged it back in and waited for it to boot all the way up before turning my Xbox 360 back on. Tried to sign in... no good. I checked that My laptop and cell phone were on the network and that they could connect to the internet and browse... They could. My Xbox One is Connected with a Network Cable and It also has no issue with connecting to Xbox live.
So I tested my connection on the Xbox 360 and it connected to the modem, no problem, but did not complete the internet step and subsequently prompted me with an error that said "Cant resolve Xbox LIVE server names". I made sure my DNS settings were set to Automatic and re-tried... Same Error. I Checked my DNS and configured the Network settings accordingly and re-tried the test again... same error. I even went as far as using Google's DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) and re-tried the test and I am still getting the same error. I have deleted my profile off of the console, I have cleared the cache, and I have restored the dashboard back to factory settings (lb rb x lb rb x at the storage selection screen) I HAVE NOT tried to connect the Xbox with a network cable because I would have to move everything to the Living room which would defy the purpose of having the console in my room. I only use this console for Netflix at night, when I am laying in bed getting ready to fall asleep.
This Issue has persisted for 3 days now and I have not seen anything on Xbox Live Status to lead me to believe it is a problem on their end.
Any help is appreciated.
