Unity has always had a free version.

If you've never used Unity, then why are you making the thread? No offense, okay...slight offense...

Although let me state that Unity Pro IS worth it, especially with Asset Store 11 and the new game/code crash reporting. There's more with Unity 5 but I do not have the time to go over it right now.

Although, one major thing I noticed is the new project selection page... (I haven't "Made a new project" yet, so I don't know what that is like...yet)
I can't post an image as I currently upgrading Sugar Smash, Bit Runner, and ****** ****
I really like that it doesn't open Unity in the previous project THEN show the screen. That really improves the load times...especially with 2GB+ projects.

just to inform people about the newest unity available, I heard of unity just never put the time to check it out. Although just because I never used the program doesn't mean I won't in the future

"****** ****" <----secret project I'm guessing o.0

and improved load time is definitely a bonus in any game program.
I'll read about what unity has to offer

Not really a secret. But just a side project that I do when I'm waiting at work or when I had no internet for like 3 days and I was messing around with 2D.
However. At the same time I may do something with it and would prefer not to mention it.

Also. Beware. Converting projects can take a while. And just backup your whole projects before you do as I've had quite a few prefabs mess up on me tonight already after converting Sugar Smash over.

New project selection page is so much cleaner now. I'm loving the performance of Unity 5 much more than last release.
