I swear sunsinger warlock cannot do this.
They can. I've done it twice already. The bulk of your height must come from your double jump while still over the rock. I used the Mida and also put my agility as high as it would go.I swear sunsinger warlock cannot do this.
I finally got it one time with a warlock with maxxed speed and using the swordbreaker increasing my agility.. only was able to pull it off once though.. but it is NOT patched.I havnt managed to pull off the jump yet (always fall short) but when PSN is back up I thought I could try and do the titan slam during the jump to get the extra distance, wish me luck.

Ok so I have finally got this to work post patch and I can confirm that this does indeed work.
Here is what I did.
Warlock - Sunsinger class
Vex, Murmur & heavy doesnt matter.
Upped all of my agility. Removed the second grenade and used the float in air as you get that little extra bump in agility. Also used the initial speed boost jump (second to last in that row). Most importantly you have to wait until you have your super power.
When on the Rock at second lantern face angled at the 2 chest door. Wait for the weight of darkness to be at zero. Get a good running start. When you jump double tap the jump button fast to get that height and distance to get as close to the edge as possible, once you feel like you cannot go any further and start to drop use your super. This gets you extra height and forward momentum. You will clear the ledge. I did this at about 5 feet (in game feet) from that 2nd chest door. I made a video, but totally forgot to upload this to my outlook or youtube.
For people who are on my friends list it is up on my uploaded videos. Sorry for the others who are not, i will upload the video today or tomorrow for help.
For Hunter I used Blade Dancer class, double jump (higher jump), max agility, and any weapon that gives +2 agility. Its definitely difficult but it can be done. Run and jump from the starting edge of the rock and hit your double jump as you're passing over the edge of the rock. If you wait too long to hit your double jump you may fall short due to the weight. If you're still falling a bit short right at the end try meleeing (worked for me once) and that might give you the extra lunge you need.
You could also try your super for the extra lunge. Never had to so I can't say if that'll work. Don't expect it to work every time and just because you don't make the jump doesn't mean its patched.
This.. Helps. I'm getting closer, but melee doesn't add any extra momentum without an enemy there. Is it better to jump earlier or later?
Edit - got the knack of it, thanks! Didn't get my gloves though. Waste of a couple hours. Ah well, always next week.
Bladedancer class, double jump with extra height.DOES NOT WORK WITH HUNTER
Bladedancer class, double jump with extra height.
Stand at the back of the rock and crouch to find where it reaches its highest point.
Sprint, jump from high point, holding the jump button.
Release & hold jump button again before the weight of darkness hits you.
If you hit the curve of the edge of the layer, hit super and melee attack your way up.
It takes a while, but it DOES work.
You may require maxed agility and a +2 agility weapon.
May also be able to jump twice without moving and bladedancer over to the edge. Haven't tested.
Make a video or find someone to do this on hunter cause I've been trying this for hours
