So first of all install the SDK then go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Durango XDK\bin" then you will find DLL's and EXE's some of the interesting ones are xsapi.dll and xvdsign.exe.

So it would be a good idea to look in to mounting xbox one system files on a windows PC to actually get access to the main files from the OS. Now once we can mount .XVD's we should be able to mount games later on and practically run our own Xbox One OS from any windows computer.

The Durango alpha (The one DaE and them got caught with) can be installed on any PC and can run extracted xbox one games.

These functions from xsapi.dll will help get you started. (Thanks to Mojobojo and xdevwiki for the help with all this)
Code:
typedef int(__cdecl* XvdOpenAdapterImp)(HANDLE* handle);
typedef int(__cdecl* XvdCloseAdapterImp)(HANDLE handle);
typedef int(__cdecl* XvdMountImp)(void* unknownReturnValue1, void* unknownReturnValue2, HANDLE xvdHandle, LPCWSTR filePath, long long setToZero, long long setToZero2, int setToZero3);
typedef int(__cdecl* XvdUnmountFileImp)(HANDLE xvdHandle, LPCWSTR filePath);
typedef int(__cdecl* XsCreateConvertVhd2XVDImp)(LPCWSTR lpFileName, LPCWSTR lpFileName2, __int64, __int64, __int64);
typedef int(__cdecl* XvdVmMount)(void* unknownReturnValue1, void* unknownReturnValue2, HANDLE xvdHandle, LPCWSTR filePath, long long setToZero, long long setToZero2, int setToZero3);
Import the dll in to a c++ application like this.
Code:
HINSTANCE hIn = LoadLibraryA("C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Microsoft Durango XDK\\bin\\xsapi.dll");

It's up to you guys to figure out how to use all this. I have given you a starting point.

Here is how far me and mojo got.

For some reason we can't mount the XVD. We get a corrupt file HRESULT. I think it may be something to do with the keys that are used to sign the XVD's I do believe the red key is in xvdsign.exe.

Note: Make sure you compile the application in 64 bit and make sure you run CMD as admin before trying to run the application.

Here are all the keys from xvdsign.exe

Good to see you helping the community

If we can decrypt the era.xvd then we possiblely might be able to play Xbox One games on the PC because thats the file for the Game OS on the Xbox One.
Damn that would be huge. What would be the next step from there though ? Or would everything just work after we decrypt it ?

I'm pretty sure we would have to mount it on a VM and then we don't know what's inside it.

So we might need to do things to it before we could even use it on a VM

Do you mind sharing how you are populating the HANDLE exactly? Because I get error" C0000043: A file cannot be opened because the share access flags are incompatible." everytime I call XvdMount, XvdOpenAdapter is fine though so idk exactly what is going on

These functions from xsapi.dll will help get you started. (Thanks to Mojobojo for the help with all this)
Code:
typedef int(__cdecl* XvdOpenAdapterImp)(HANDLE* handle);
typedef int(__cdecl* XvdCloseAdapterImp)(HANDLE handle);
typedef int(__cdecl* XvdMountImp)(void* unknownReturnValue1, void* unknownReturnValue2, HANDLE xvdHandle, LPCWSTR filePath, long long setToZero, long long setToZero2, int setToZero3);
typedef int(__cdecl* XvdUnmountFileImp)(HANDLE xvdHandle, LPCWSTR filePath);
typedef int(__cdecl* XsCreateConvertVhd2XVDImp)(LPCWSTR lpFileName, LPCWSTR lpFileName2, __int64, __int64, __int64);
typedef int(__cdecl* XvdVmMount)(void* unknownReturnValue1, void* unknownReturnValue2, HANDLE xvdHandle, LPCWSTR filePath, long long setToZero, long long setToZero2, int setToZero3);

Why don't you post your source code ?
We all know that's simple to import functions ( (XvdOpenAdapter)GetProcAddress(hIn, "XvdOpenAdapter") ). But it should be efficient to work into common base (source code)...

According to xdevwiki we could not decrypt retail xvd without getting them from Xone (so game over for retail xvd atm).

You're right forgot all about that actually (He did add more though). I didn't post mine and mojo's source as it doesn't work lol.
I'm just posting info in here to try and get people to try make their own and do some research (Maybe someone else's will work).

Not crediting the wiki was a honest mistake we made the app ages ago and haven't bothered with it for months.

So I was poking at XsCreateConvertVhd2XVD and here's my 4am notes:
  • Seems to only support dynamically expanding old school ("conectix") VHDs
    • Differencing disk configurations are OK, it will traverse up the tree until it finds the base disk
  • The definition so far appears to be:
    • HRESULT __fastcall XsCreateConvertVhd2XVD(LPWSTR lpVhdPath, LPWSTR lpXvdPath, DWORD dwUnknown, DWORD dwCreateFlags)
  • Seems to supports one or more of the following create flags:
    • XXX_UNK_4 0x00000004
    • XXX_UNK_8 0x00000008
    • XXX_SPARSE 0x00000010
Perhaps tomorrow I'll take another look at the input side of things. Something is off, as I'm getting "Invalid XVD content type" errors with pointers pointing to the input VHD path.

@Chr0m3 x MoDz it work but you don't understand what you are doing thats why you get error:0xc0000102.
XvdMount will mount only clear xvd and you are trying to mount an encrypted one thats why you get 0xc0000102.

That's what I originally thought but I clearly don't have the keys to decrypt it? Unless they are in the xvdsign.exe?

I have seen system.xvd mounted by team XoS so clearly they either decrypted it or mounted it encrypted.

If you notice in Team XoS's video, pause when they or he view the desktop, you will see he/they was reversing the same files as we all are. So, it must be in there.

The system file must be dev kit os, as the keys are in the apps.

The XVD's XoS had were not encrypted, all they did was mount them with the xsapi. Why do you think nobody has heard anything from them since?
