So I just hooked up my one, and played ryse for the first time. I played it for an hour or so, and then selected to shut the console off. Well it's been like 10 minutes or so since I did this, and the fan is still going on the console? Is that normal?
Nevermind....I think it is the power brick? It's still lit up white even tho console is off, and it is running a fan? Wierd

Yes it's normal.
Your Xbox is in a very low power state. The cool thing is that while it's in that state it'll download updates for you right when they come out.

If it bothers you, you can always unplug it.

If the light is on on your power brick, that means your X1 is in like the special power state mode, which means you can turn your X1 on by saying "Xbox On."

It is in standby mode so as Spyro said it turns on when you say Xbox On. If you unplug and plug it in, this completely shuts it off. But the xbox one command will not work if you do this.

I mean, is it good for a console to be always on....even tho it's in low power state? The idea seems ludacris. If I tell a console to turn off, I kinda want it OFF, not in standby. I just don't know if the always on thing is too good for it.....but it might be fine. What do you guys think?

Think of it as when you press the lock button on a ipod/phone or when you shut the lid of a ds.

You can change the power supply in settings on the xbox one.

Apparently it is designed to be left on fr 1000 years or something, if you don't like it change the power setting to power saver
