Hi all,

I want to power an LED strip from my XB1. Currently, I can only find constant 12V points (except the fan connector, which I understand is active in instant-on mode but 0V when fully powered off). I only want the LEDs to power on when the power LED does.

Is the only way to do this to either (a) wire the LEDs to the fan connector and disabling instant-on mode, or (b) using a constant 12V source and the power switch 3.3V as a control with a transistor? If a transistor, what values/type do I need for the power LED 3.3V source to switch on/off the power strip LEDs?

Thanks!

Thanks bud - in the end I went for the 12V point on a MOSFET near the AC input, that I believe supplies power to the fan. I think that might have continuity with exactly the same point in that thread though.
