Ok when i open this one particular folder on my desktop and move things around/open/edit what have you, i get this pop up.

I have no idea what it is so i just clicked "X" and it comes up again and when i click "X" again it goes away. I have gotten this error before maybe a year ago and it sort of went away by itself but i really want to know what it is. I don't think its a virus because my AV would have picked it up (TrendMicro) and i don't think it has to do with anything in the folder because last time the folder had documents for school (essays and what not) and now its happening to a folder thats full of porn () but its really bugging me not knowing what it is and how to fix it.

    Any help? =/

go to C:\Documents and Settings\(your account name)\Application Data
delete everything except the Microsoft folder.

if that doesnt work get CCleaner and fix the registry.

PS. scan with avg, superantisypware, and malwarebytes'

It looks like a clever form of spyware.

My favorite spyware remover is Ad-Aware.
It's free, just do a quick google search

My AV just let me know that it hasnt done a scan in over a week so im scanning now and already i have 6 threats found , so ill finish it and quarantine/delete everything it finds and see if that helps.

But why would that thing only pop up when i look around in a certain folder? The only thing i have in there are videos and i get them from trusted sites. or at least i thought they were....:frown:

you should get ie8 beta 2, the ie downloader tells you if the download is reported safe or not.
