So I was just wondering a couple questions. I am currently on an iPhone 5c with 7.1.2 untethered but I've noticed more apps wanting you to be on 8.+ to download. I've also noticed a couple jailbreak tweaks not working for what ever reason (possibly due to my firmware).

What's the highest you can upgrade your firmware and still be untethered?

Is it better to have lower firmware or higher firmware?

Thanks!

Lower the Firmware. That's always the best way to go.

Well I notice there's a lot of tweaks and such that aren't compatible with 7.+.

Unless the JailBreak is updated to include the further updates coming out then I would go back and get the previous one.

You can't update and jailbreak anyway. The latest iOS being signed is iOS 8.1.3 which is not capable of being Jailbroken. So stay on your current firmware that is Jailbroken.
