As the title asks: does anyone know why PUBG updates essential re-install the whole game? I noticed that the Public Test Server was about 300mb~ larger than the ‘full’ game, so I expected the update to be those 300mb. Buut, instead, it’s installing the full size of the PTS.

My only guess is that they just shift everything onto the main game from the PTS, seeing as they know that everything went smoothly on the Test Servers and don’t want to risk anything ****ing up with the content already on the main game. I could see it: /Adds new weathers to the game./ /Vehicles randomly explode./

Unreal Engine 4 module coding, you cant update 1 line of code without redownloading the whole module. Long story short.

A small half line code fix on a big module, requires the whole module re-download, probably 1gb+.

Most software can be updated one line at a time, but as Reynolds said... this isnt one of those lol
Updates for the entire game seem to be more stable imo anyway... less room for bad data.
