Solved Why can't FOV be changed on console?

Titles says it all. I don't know why us console guys can't change the FOV. Would it be too hard to program in or what? I know PC can do it and has had it in game up until BO1 (I think).

I'm not sure. It's piss easy to do it on PC. It's a simple DVAR change.
I remember Vahn was actually thinking about doing it.

But, it can be seen as an advantage. You see more on the screen at once, so maybe that's why?

It does give the slightest of advantages seeing more of the screen, but I think you should be allowed to change it.

My sig says "No Russian". It's the mission from MW2 where you slaughter everybody in the Russian airport.

Because it's possible via modding lol.

ALMOST all of the Dvars get reset upon starting a new game, sadly. So one would have to be online with a JTAG to be able to set the Dvars and have them stick.

PC you can just execute commands which allow you to set FOV.

Piss easy to do on consoles as well. Only problem is that dvars are reset at the start of every game, and I think FOV dvars are reset after every killcam. IW just doesn't want you to modify their game, which is understandable.
