Hey guys, a really long time ago, maybe nearly a year ago, I made a topic about making a budget gaming PC setup. It took me a really long time to get the components because of some issues, so I couldn't start getting them till recently. Anyhow, my CPU/GPU & Ram arrived but I don't know which motherboard/power supply & hard drive to choose so I'd appreciate if someone could help me!

Currently I got:
- CPU: i3-7100
- GPU: GTX 1050Ti 4GB
- Ram: Kingston 8GB

Note: On the package of the i3-7100, it says that the motherboard must be compatible with a LGA1151 socket.
I will be ordering the components that are left, from a website called egypt.souq.com

These are some of the reasonable prices of power supplies that I found:
https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/thermaltake-litepower-550w-power-supply-ps-ltp-0550npcneu-2-34548029/i/
(The reviews of this brand aren't looking good)
https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/cooler-master-500w-masterwatt-lite-36342044/i/
(Bad review as well)
https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/fsp-power-supply-hyper-s-700w-psu-23088880/i/
https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/seasonic-ss-520gb-s12ii-520w-80-plus-bronze-power-supply-8323501/i/
https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/evga-600b-bronze-100-b1-0600-kr-power-supply-600w-10554262/i/
The last 2 links are more expensive, but I can go within such range if necessary.

These are some hard drives:
-Cheap ones (500 GB to 1 TB) (HDD):
https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/seagat...-drive-sata-7200-rpm-16-mb-buffer-30085747/i/
https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/seagat...nternal-hard-disk-drive-st500dm002-4256473/i/
https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/seagate-barracuda-500gb-internal-pc-hard-disk-st500dm002-7770093/i/
https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/wester...een-64-mb-cache-internal-hard-disk-9570060/i/
https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/wester...r-desktop-64-mb-cache-green-colour-4232414/i/
https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/wester...-desktop-hard-drive-green-wd10ezrx-6284313/i/
(There are many more to list, but they're the same amount of space yet nearly 25% more in price so I just stated a couple cheaper ones)

-Moderate price (120 GB) (SDD):
https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/kingst...a400s37-120g-increase-performance-35164864/i/
https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/kingst...h-solid-state-drive-sa400s37-120g-35164872/i/
https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/kingston-120gb-ssd-sa400-sata3-2-5-sa400s37-120g-23707377/i/
https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/kingston-120-gb-internal-pc-hard-disk-sa400s37-120g-29717541/i/
https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/kingst...3-solid-state-drive-sa400s37-120g-33535245/i/
https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/kingston-120-gb-internal-pc-hard-disk-sa400s37-31963275/i/
https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/wd-gre...-2-5-7mm-internal-ssd-wds120g2g0a-28325336/i/
https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/kingston-ssdnow-v300-120gb-solid-state-drive-sv300s37a-33655696/i/
(The last link is probably the highest price I'll go for a hard drive unless it's really necessary)

Motherboard:
When I searched for 'Motherboard LGA1151' there were only 9 results so I'll just state them below (some are quite too expensive for me).
https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/gigaby...b-3-0-micro-atx-intel-motherboard-29721358/i/

https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/gigaby...ts-motherboards-ga-z170x-gaming-7-12089211/i/

I'd like it to have built-in WiFi if possible. If any other information is required then please let me know! Thanks in advance!

So I cant open any of the links you just posted so I am gonna give you some general idea of what to get.

1. Get a PSU that is at least 600w and Bronze ranked

examples:

A) Low End: Antec VP600P 600 Watts / VP700P 700 Watts

B) High End : Antec Gamer Gold Series HCG750 (80+ Gold Certified 750W)

2. Seagate or Western Digital

tbh they both are the same WD being a bit expensive, just get any one, I have Seagate BarraCuda 1TB with a 64 MB cache, works fine for me.

3. SSD

No idea about this, I have a 120GB PNY which was given to me as a birthday gift. Didn't bother to look at it much, just that my boot to screen time is hardly 2 seconds (on win 10) cause of this.

4. MOBO

Ok this is where I can probably help you the most, you have 7th Gen i3. My 1st suggest to you when buying a mobo, get a FULL-ATX mobo. Never go for those micro motherboards. They are not meant for gaming.

Here are 2 suggestion which I think would suit you the best

normal end: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-H110M-H-rev-10

High end( with built-in wifi) : https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/TUF-H370-PRO-GAMING-WI-FI/

P.S: If you dont understand any part of my comment, let me know, will try to help you accordingly.

P.S.S: Would have really helped if I could open those links that you posted.

Well I already bought a motherboard and hard drive because I didn't think I'd get any replies. I went with those:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B250M-D2V LGA1151 USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Hard drive: Kingston A400 SSD 120GB SATA 3 Solid State Drive SA400S37/120G

So I actually got a micro ATX because I didn't know it'd have any difference, I asked someone personally and he told me the motherboard was a fine choice so I went with it, same with the hard drive.

In like a week or so I'll try to find a power supply with a case, however I heard mostly that 500w, 520w or 550w would be enough, but you're telling me 600w, 700w or 750w so I'm not sure which one to take. Will it cause a huge difference? Is 500w not enough for regular gaming?

Well Kingston A400 SSD is an ok device(asked a friend) but I would say good luck with the motherboard. As for the PSU 2 reasons I would suggest you get a high power PSU

1) See the thing is PSU can have a life for about 3-4 years if kept in a stable environment. Means you can use the same PSU if you decide to further update your PC in a year or 2.

2) Also as time passes by the power out-put of PSU lowers down (due to many reasons such as capacitor aging). To keep it simple 500w might end up being 475w or 450w in a year or 2. Getting a 600W or more PSU will assure stability and reinforce point 1 that ii wrote above.

What do you mean 'good luck'? Is the motherboard bad? I checked reviews and it looked fine...

And alright I'll take a higher watts, could you tell me which one of these is good/which you'd prefer?

EVGA 650 N1, 650W, Power Supply 100-N1-0650-L1
SeaSonic [SS-520GB] S12II-520w 80 Plus Bronze Power Supply
Thermaltake Litepower 650W Power Supply - PS-LTP-0650NPCNUS-F
Cooler Master Masterwatt Lite 500W with 80 Plus Certified Power Supply with Full Protections
EVGA 600B Bronze 100-B1-0600-KR Power Supply, 600W

And someone told me about getting a 'cougar power supply' not sure about that

Mobo:

There are 3 types of mobo. Full-ATX, Micro-ATX and Mini-ATX. You bought a Micro-ATX motherboard, which is not always meant for gaming enthusiast. See for starters it has 2 RAM slots instead of 4 so it can create an issue for your future upgrades. Similarly it might miss out some other functionality which a Full-ATX brings in. The reason I mentioned the ''good luck'' part was because there is usually very less price difference between a Full-ATX and a Micro-ATX, basically you could have added in 15-25 USD and get a Full-ATX mobo

PSU:

EVGA 650 N1, 650W, Power Supply 100-N1-0650-L1

Out of the list you have given me I would get the one above .

Hmm I see, thanks for the information! Sadly I was on a low budget so I took a cheap motherboard, I'm aware that I'll need to change it sooner or later, but it's better than nothing for now. I'll definitely upgrade later on, but I got a 1x8 GB stick so I can put another 1x8 GB stick if I feel like 8 GB isn't enough, that'll fit within those 2 slots for now.

Alright thanks a lot man! I'll order this one.

And lastly, two more questions, how do I choose the right case for my computer? And I found a 24 inch curved monitor for 166.06 USD (when converted) but it's only 60 hz and 1080p, is that fine? I feel like 24 inches is too large but it's the cheapest curved monitor and all the monitors above 60 hz/1080p cost way more than my whole setup together. My desk isn't too big either so I'm afraid that 24 inches might be too large, any recommendation regarding this? My current laptop is like 17.5 inches and it already feels very large to me. Thanks in advance!

The name of the monitor is:
Samsung 24 inch LED Monitor - LC24F390FHMXZN

EDIT: I was looking for cases and found a cheap one for around 27 USD, these are the specs:

Description:
  • Brand : null
  • Color : Black
  • Type : Full Tower
  • Model Number : Z3
  • Power Supply Included : Yes
Do you think this is a good one? It even has a power supply included which will save me money, however it doesn't how many watts the power supply has.

Majority of the gaming community is on 24inch screen size, what you need to choose is between 60hz or 144hz. If you are on a budget get a 24inch monitor @ 60Hz. If you find 24 too big, you can get a 21 inch screen as well. Screen tbh in my personal opinion depends from person to person. I have a 24inch @ 60Hz and I am pretty happy with it.

for case you need to remember one basic thing, It should have proper ventilation. Example: one 120mm fan in front to bring cool air and one 120mm fan on top extract hot air. Can you post more images of the CASE you chose?

That was the only picture, and that's why I didn't immediately buy it even though it's cheap. Should I choose something else? The other ones have triple the price at the very least
