Hey all! i havent posted in ages ...me and my mates are looking at making some GoW 2 and CoD montages, but we dont yet have a capture card.

What is a good cheap capture card?
Ive heard something like 'dazzle' is good?

I live in the UK

If you want a cheap one, get a EasyCap. Make sure it's a DC60+ if you plan to record PAL 60.

I have a Dazzle and it is good. I bought it on eBay for 26.00 dollars. But if you want the "Best" quality then you might want check out the HD PVR. The only drawback is the 250.oo dollar price tag. OUCH!

I have the Hauppauge 950, I think it works pretty well, but im not too sure on what its price is

As everyone's posting vids, this is a capture test I did with my EasyCap. I forgot to turn sound capture on, but there is sound capture.

You can record with all capture cards in HD if you want. Though you have to get a proper HD one to get "true" HD. But by turning the resolution up, you can get higher-res videos.

No. You get upscaled video not HD. He is asking HD as in the original file was HD. right now the best card is the black magic intensity which requires a pci-e port.

okay, well i think im going to buy the Easycap pal60+...is that ALL i need to buy in order to be able to record?

A EasyCap DC60+ that records PAL 60. And you'll need some splitters and stuff. Depends on what setup you have.

They're not extension cables BTW... CBA to redo the pics.

Component cable set to SD (when recording of course. It's normally on HD ):

Buy a HAVA. You can get them cheap on ebay and they record great. I have a HAVA Titanium HD Wifi and it records beautifully. They cost $100+ on ebay. But there are other versions of it that are cheaper and record better than a dazzle.
