Ok, so i bought this xbox off ebay as a RROD and not working / Fixable. I get it and see SMD's missing and this weird yellow stuff under a custom Encore heat sink thingy.

I started to clean it up but took a picture before i did.

It has a 0110 error code and i cant seem to fix it... BTW, the person before me put WAY to much paste on .

Can anyone tell me what it is?

You can literally just chip that stuff off, or you can leave it there. It won't make a difference.

Okay. I got it all cleaned up with alcohol (hope it wont hurt). There are a couple traces that have been chipped off, could i repair them with a conductive pen?

And also, how do i replace a SMD pad, once it has been removed accidentally. A SMD was chipped off when i got it and one of the pads was removed. so i couldnt apply solder to repalce it.

Really annoying that i paid $40 for a paper-weight.

It's that thing that they use when you reflow the console or reball like this

It's flux used during a reflow. Used to use the same stuff at my last job.
