***UPDATE*** maybe someone will find this usefull - I only sold 1 dupe and drove out like 8 more out of garage and checked with iFruit if they are dirty ( and they were ).
I have cleaned up ALL of my garages by replacing dirty dupes with new free elegies, I have checked every single garage for possible forgoten old dupes with iFruit ( if the total car selection number decreased I replaced that vehicle ).
My newly purchased issy that i have upgraded was also flagged for some reason and like most of my arena cars so now im sticking with retro customs untill I am sure I can sell arena cars.
After waiting 30hours of 1 daily sell limit I'm now able to sell atleast 2 cars a day.
Don't ever sell dupes that you haven't checked trough iFruit!

Ok so what does it mean when you can drive your elegy retro custom into the mod shop and it does not activate the modification/sell options? I am now able to simply drive inside as if I were on foot and just tour and play inside the garage. Does it mean that my dupe is dirty? It has been in my nightclub waiting to be sold for several months.
[doublepost=1565197316][/doublepost]Hmm that's weird. I was able to sell it in my arena mod shop. Is this a known thing, that you can drive around street shops with no sale abilities but you have to go to another mod shop for it to work?

Not 100% of what you are describing but it’s possible to get inside the repair shop as if it’s just a normal place and drive your car inside it. Typically it happens if you throw a grenade inside

No I simply drove up to the door as if to modify the car but the door simply opened and I was driving around inside. I tried with two different elegy's from that garage. Same weird result. I'm aware that you can trick the door and run inside without a vehicle, but the shop just didn't work. Just the door opened and I was driving around confused.

Again, you can drive around in a mod shop. Not only walking around. This has nothing to do with your dupes

I suspect one of my cars is dirty but it doesn’t have a plate at all

Can vehicles without plates be dirty? Such as the hakuchou drag, apc, n***d dune buggy, etc

I’m trying to clean all of my cars just in case but I don’t know how to test cars without plates at all

I believe they all have registrations even if they don't show plates.
Duping fills in the registration plate field for the car (donates the plate), although you won't see it.

Similarly, I've seen through the Benny's merge glitch, some modded cars which only have a primary colour, reveal that they were given a secondary colour too. The secondary colour was written to the car, much like the plates but the car could not show it.

I'm sure I read once that even aircraft can get "dirty plates".
Don't quote me on that, I may have read misinformation to begin with.

[EDIT] The RC Bandito is a good example. Mine's modded and gives a plate when merged yet doesn't display one itself.

I think the way to identify a dirty dupes is that you can try to replace a new custom plate, if LSC change custom plate option is disappeared or cannot change that, it should be a dirty one.

I will try this when I get home, thanks for the info. It would show a plate even if the vehicle itself doesn’t have one?

Arena Deathbike gives no custom plate option, it's safe to sell/dupe that?
Or I missed something (I never sold more than 3 cars per day, more than 1 hour interval)

I have made a rookie mistake by forgetting to put a custom plate on original and have duped multiple of them. My question is this. If before i sell any of them and put on a custom plate and drive out and back into LSC and sell is that safe? OR DO I JUST START ALL OVER AGAIN AND DUPE OVER THEM. Going to be 50 of those i must had. Faaaaakkkkkkkkkkkkkk.

if you have not sold any i think you can still change the tags, i think. take one in the shop and see if you can, but dont sell. dont take my word on that though, maybe someone else can chime in and confirm or deny .

The car I am duplicating can have always the same custom plates right?

All I need to do then is putting on different custom plates on the duped car?

    Hello.

Thank you for informative thread. Still if someone could just clarfy one thing to me. I read all sticky posts but as new player still there is lots of infomation to cover, I'm years behind so I have to ask this.

When doing dupe glitch, I understand I need to get custom plate, but after I am done with dupe and got my new dupe, when I want to dupe again before selling previous dupe, do I need new custom plate or same custom plate on original car will do? Like will two dupes have same plate after duping if I didn't get new custom plate or something like that or I am fine as long as I just get that 1 custom plate on car that I want to dupe.

Sorry if I worded it poorly, hope someones understands what I am trying to get clarified for myself, thank you in advance!

Vehicles without plates can be dirty. Every vehicle you buy, whether it's a plane, boat, bike or car. Even if it doesnt show a plate it still comes with a registration number for your account. A lot of people were having that issue when using GCTF to recieve aircraft.

This is what I have done and what other people do. Make 2-3 custom plates. Have plate 1 be the duping plate, meaning every car you dupe will have that plate. When you go to sell a car go to LSC and change the plate to plate 2. Leave LSC without selling it to force a save. Then drive back in and sell it. Then next time you go to sell a dupe use plate 3 instead of plate 2. And just repeat following selling rules switching between plates 2 and 3. You can also make more plates just to switch between sells. Just dont sell a car with plate 1. I mean you could but it's better to be safe than sorry

If I was you I would overwrite all of them with free elegys and restart. It's a pain I know I have made that mistake too and I wasnt able to change plates until I got rid of all my dirty dupes

Hi, so i have ensured my main vehicles have custom plates before duping. AFter duping, I would also attach insurance on them. Yet there is just no way for me to sell them at all. I kept getting the "you can only sell vehicles worth up to $50,000" error when I try. I am able to go LSC to change plates, and while pressing Z in my garage, it shows that they are also insured. Any help would be welcome.

Also as a side note, I have a "dirty(?)" duped Adder in my garage. Although it is insured, I am unable to change its license plate to my custom one. This is a leftover duped car from around mid 2015 or so, and I can sell it but it goes for 1k. Is it possible that the existence of this car is preventing me from selling at all?
