Web Want to make my first Google Chrome extension

So, I feel like it's time for me a pick up a new skill in the programming side of things.
This is one of those skills I don't plan to getting really advanced in, and I'm pretty sure just basics would get done what I want done.

So, if anyone here has some experience in Google Chrome extension development, I would greatly appreciate some help.

Here are some questions that I came up with and they probably could help me get started.
And this is definitely not a format you need to use if/when replying here. (Please don't use it as a format if you're capable of providing a larger variety of knowledge)

• What language(s) do I need, or what language(s) would help me?
• What do I need to get started?
• Beginner tips?
• Any good tutorials to refer to? Maybe a good documentation somewhere?
• Anything else you could come up with that could help me?

As for what language? Javascript.
