I wonder if your powersupply has a high enough wattage.

550W is fine. if your stuck in a boot cycle your ram could be the problem.

Of course it will do that with no ram. If you have more than 1 stick try them separate.

Do you have any other pieces with high power requirements? Obviously 550 watts is fine for the video card and a basic set-up, but if you had a high-powered sound card, a gaming network card (I just learned these existed yesterday; cool!), etc... things could get hairy. >_<

I... have no idea. You have the same RAM I do by the by. I'll Google this after dinner and see if I can find anyone with the same problem. You said it does it without your video card, with only one stick of RAM in, etc., right?

Then it's a problem with your power supply... It may say 550W, but that might not always be the case. It could be faulty, however most likely case is that it's ****ing up while trying to run it all at once.

Have you tried powering the video card while the card is not connected to the PCI-e slot? Like just having the card there (try to hold it via electrostatic-resistant packaging), try to power it and the computer. If it still faults, then it's defiantly your power supply, else it's a faulty card.
