Brand and speed don't matter in the least.
You can use Sony, Memorex, or whatever you want as long as they are 8.5 GB.
I burn my Memorex discs at 8x and have NEVER had a problem.

buy a speed? when burning a disc with imgburn, just choose the 2x speed or whatever is around there. it doesn't have to be vertbatim, just that that is the best one for it. as long as the disc is dual-layered, it will work.

Someone told me that Memorex discs are bad, 4 our of 5 don't work. Is that incorrect? Multiple have told me that, and they also said Verbatim are the best. I've never tried Memorex.

I've burned 100 Memorex discs and 30 Verbatims, never had a single one that was bad.

i first tried memorex, they are much cheaper. but in this case, the moar expensive disc are better. none of my vertbatim disc have failed me. but yeah, maybe 1 out of 5 memorex worked for me. and the one that did worked, only worked for a couple of weeks.

edit:

chotton must have a beastly burner
