Here's a quick tutorial:
  1. Download BootGIF. If the it does not work or your anti-virus blocks it, try the universal jar. Also install "Animate iOS 8" and "Apple File Conduit "2"" from Cydia.
  2. Load the GIF that you would like to use. When your have configured everything to your liking, save the file.
  3. Using iFunBox, iExplorer or OpenSSH, transfer the folder created by BootGIF to /Library/Bootlogos on your device.
  4. Finally, select the animation you just created in settings under "BootLogo".
Don't forget to try out adding a fade in or fade out, and if it plays too quickly or too slowly you can loop it, or adjust the number of frames.
Let me know if you have any issues, or suggestions.
