Upgrade: Vista --> 7

I have vista ultimate x86
I downloaded windows 7 ultimate x86

If I use the upgrade option will all my drivers still work?

I would not recommend doing this. Check your manu's website for drivers BEFORE you try to upgrade.
I would recommend a fresh install over a dirty one any day

All your Drivers Should Work But I would Make a Backup of your current stuff, just in case.

@joe, i installed vista on this machine a week ago. on a clean partition.
and i have heard that the upgrade option wont wipe me out.

I upgraded from Vista. Everything worked fine, I guess it just depends if the company has released Windows 7 support

I have a HP Tablet (tx2z), which has Vista on it. If I upgrade to Win7 will everything still work the same?

When you go from Vista to 7 its just a OS upgrade Everything should work, I have yet seen issues on any of the machines iv put it on so far.

Now I did do a few XP to 7 upgrades and it has to be done via clean install.

So yes, your OS will work when he upgrades, but will his drivers be compatible? Not necessarily. I had to wait about 3 weeks for a touchpad driver to come out for my netbook

Check your manu's website for drivers BEFORE you try to upgrade.

And M$ as came out with all teh manu's saying if you currently run vista you should be able to upgrade to 7 no later then 10-29. I got a nice letter from HP and Acer stating that in my email.

The drivers should work. I've not hear too much about x86 drivers having problems, it's only be the x64 drivers that have problems.

I'd also recommend a fresh install.

I just upgraded to windows 7 and alot of the motherboard drivers didnt work but everything else seems to work except WoW it keeps crashing and freezing my computer
