So, you finally learned what it takes to EV train a Pokemon. But now your stuck, there are over 600 Pokemon now, and it is up to you to find one to train.
Today, i'm going to do something that I would normally never do. I am going to try and take you step by step, of me making my Togekiss. Right now I have a fully EV'd level 16 Togekiss that is battle ready (well, besides its low level). From his nature/ability/EV's/moves, get ready.
So, how did I come upon Togekiss? Well, I already had one, when I first started playing Soul Silver nearly 2 years ago, I trained that Togepi into a Togetic by level 27. Then into a Togekiss that became my second leveled 100. So I already had "history" with him. But he was not trained properly. So it came time that i replaced him. But first thoughts were to go for another Normal Type Pokemon, which lead me to Slaking. At first, Slaking looks like a perfect Pokemon. Nearly every stat over 100, a properly EV'd Slaking would wreck the battlefield. But then I noticed his ability. Truant is what breaks him for being a competitive Pokemon, after every turn, he has to take a "break". Even after simple attacks like sand attack.
So I went back to Togekiss. I needed someone who could be a front line Pokemon for me. I already have my Environmental Pokemon and Defensive Powerhouse, but I needed someone that I could depend on when it came down to the crunch. Seeing his special attack and special defense makes EV training him very easy. When he came to the nature, I have 2 very large stats that I would be willing to take the 10% plunge on. With such a low attack, I immediately knew I would not need to EV train that at all. So as for the nature, I went with Jolly. Jolly will up my speed and drop my special attack. Then came the ability.

So, I saw that he can learn "Serene Grace". Well I had that with my event Jirachi, so I already knew what that can do in a battle. Serene Grace = "This Pokemon's secondary effect chances are doubled." What does that mean? Well, secondary effects would be moves that can make a Pokemon flinch, burn, frozen, sleep. And as it turns out, Togekiss has a move that does just that. Not only does he have a move that will make a Pokemon flinch 30% of the time, but that move is also a STAB. STAB = Same-Type Attack Bonus. Meaning, if a Pokemon is using a move that is the same as the type of Pokemon it is, then it will gave a 50% strength increase. So, in the case of Togekiss, this means that Air Slash, which does 75 damage, will now do 112.5 damage. And because of Serene Grace, it will also have a 60% flinch rate. Now, I have a Pokemon that has a move that does 112.5 damage/60% flinch rate/95% accuracy.
I got lucky with Air Slash, seeing as how it was a special move. Seeing as how my attack stats were so bad, there is no way I will be choosing any attack moves for him, so already, my search is narrowed. Thunderwave was a option for a second move, you always need those status effect moves. I was also looking at Safeguard and and Protect, but being able to paralyze and flinch my opponents won me over. You will not win battles with 6 Pokemon that have 24 special attack or attack moves.
Seeing as how I already have a Togekiss, I have already visited the move tutor. So Aura Sphere was a easy choice. Aura Sphere had something I really needed, its a strong fighting special attack move. But its not like these moves just came to mind. I spent a lot of time on multiple sites, fighting between moves. Some came natural, yes, but there were other options that were floating in my head.

Aura Sphere
I was floating around with Aerial Ace, which had a STAB, but was a physical attack. Same with Fly, which was also a physical STAB. Both strong moves, but with the way I was trying to EV train him, I had to throw them both out. Then I found a "different" move. It took some thinking before I finally threw this one out of the mix. Rock Smash. Okay, it's a 40 damage physical fighting attack. Why would I ever have that on the table? Well, it has a 50% chance of lowering my opponents defense. But, with Serene Grace, it now has 100% chance of lowering their defense. So at first I was contemplating chancing up the stats. Maybe work more with physical, seeing as how I had all these other moves and something that would destroy my opponents defense. But that came to a end, working on flinching/paralyzing my opponent, then burying him with Aura Sphere already had a place on my team.
As for my last move, I had to talk to a buddy about. Already Air Slash, Thunderwave, Aura Sphere were confirmed. But then he was telling me about Roost. Roost will restore half of my max HP. Having Roost really took a shot at my EV training, now all of a sudden, I needed to really work on my HP. I was really hoping to work on speed, but having the ability to restore so much health took a tole on me, so I chose my 4 moves, determined how I would learn them, then spelt out my EV's.

Choosing EV's
It's already been determined that I am a Jolly natured Togekiss. Speed up and down Special Attack. Roost will now help my health, so I am going to work on HP. So, I put a lot of points towards it. Then came speed and defense. Attack was low enough to where I was never going to work with it. And my special attack and special defense were already very large.
So: 125 Def, 235 HP, and 150 Spd
There I go, knowing everything about the future of my Pokemon. I just had to get to breeding. Put a Togekiss and Ditto together, recieved the egg, and hatched out a Togepi. Well that was the easy part, then came the training. I went out and bought the proteins I would need to rush this EV training. I've beatin' the Elite 4 about 120 times now, so I have plenty of money (well i'm maxed out, and so is my mother). And whenever I max myself out, I go out and buy 10 of each type of protein. So I used 10 HP Ups, 10 Carbos, and 10 Irons on my Togepi. That already puts my EV's for each of those stats at 100. I then infected him with Pokerus. I have a Pokemon stored away in my computer, so whenever I need to infect someone, I have him in there. And I got Power Belt, Power Anklet, and Power Weight ready. I used Serebii to find the Pokemon I would have to battle. And before I was even finished EVing my HP, my Togepi evolved into Togetic at level 9.

Togetic
I was not expecting him that soon. But that did not change my training. I still went into battles, threw him out first, then switched to another Pokemon to finish the battle. I used my chart to keep trace of my stats, and was done in no time (well actually, while training him, I caught my first shiny hehe. A level 16 Farfetch'd).
I then took my now level 14 Togekiss to the move tutor. Taught him Aura Sphere and Air Slash. I pulled out my TM's and then gave him Thunderwave and Roost.

This should be your series, pokemon 101.

Things you can talk about:
  • breeding in depth
  • building a team
  • competitive play
  • item usages
  • team roles

then I need to finish my team first. Only recently have I gotten back to playing. I now have 5 EV'd Pokemon. But now I have to get 2 of them to 100. Then figure out a 6th Pokemon.

I didn't realize it was the paraflinch one until i already had a lot of him set up most of the way. by that time, I already had like 7 websites opened up. a couple for him, and a couple for another Pokemon i'm working on. so I kinda lost track when it came to a small section on that site. but i stuck to my guns when it came to EVing training.

nah, Smogon can wait. the way I see it, is what if my pokemon did suck *** pm there, that would probably force me to start all over. and then I would have this togekiss earased. but now, I can train him, and if I have to now, i can just make a new pokemon. you can't always battle with the same 6, you need choices

How'd you get the Pokevirus?

My buddy gave it to one of my pokemon. If u need one, you can use the dns method to create a pokemon with pokerus, then just infect your legit pokemon.

And it will be infected when you go to the PokeCenter?
Yep. I'm pretty sure it's permanent. Although I'd check with RaidersFan first, I've not played B/W since release.

it's permanent for the pokemon, you always feel the affects

BUT BUT BUT

you only have like 48 real time hours to infect other pokemon. because in 48 hours, you loose the ability to do so.

SO

what you do, is infect another pokemon, and put him in the computer. if he's in the computer, he won't loose the ability to infect others
