ok so last night i was trying to watch a movie online and the site i usually watch movies on is all ****ed up right now because they moved there server out of the country so this site tells me i need to install a plugin so i download it and i right click and press scan with avast and nothing pops up but sure enough as soon as i run it windows defender pops up saying

trojandownloader:win32/renos.jm level:high

i have pressed remove all but about 10 minutes later it pops up again so i press quarintine and about 10 minutes it pops up again so can someone tell me how to remove this. i also did a virus scan with avast and it found nothing with a full search

i will give thanks if your solution helps

Option 1) Format your hard drive, reinstall OS.
Option 2) Buy a mac.

Your decision.

Or kill it with HJT?
It isn't a trojan, just spyware, most probably used for advertising.. Just use agood pop up blocker and you'll be fine.

if its not a trojan then why does it say it is?

well i figured out how to delete it
a.exe was only showing up and i tryed to delete but it was in use so i found it in task manager and stopped the process then deleted. also found b.exe and decided to scan and it was a trojan so i deleted it also.

thanks for trying though

Ah okay, personally, I find Windows Defender isn't very good. It's picked a OCX file up as a trojan once lol.
Sites that host films and ask you to install a plug-in will usually be spyware.
But anyways, glad you've got that crap off your PC

just look around your program files folder, windows folder, and look at all of your processes. find anything out of the ordinary and delete it.

OH. MY BAD. nvm kid don't bother looking at your processes. some of them "can/do hide from showing up on the processes"

(which btw doesn't make grammatical sense)

oh. sorry dude. you gotta be careful about the way you type things. the all-caps "LOL" plus the 2 dots at the end was kinda like saying "you're stupid".

but yeah, definitely check those processes.
